Now that the fall season has rolled around for Animal Crossing: New Horizons players in the Northern Hemisphere, a ton of new and rare autumn-themed DIYs are available for discovery and crafting. But players will first have to acquire the recipes and enough Acorns and Pine Cones to craft them.

Ingredient gathering is almost a competition in the world of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Players actively spend hours of their time collecting and crafting the right items to decorate their islands from top to bottom. Often times, players will even travel to far-away islands with the Dodos or trade online through fan-made websites like Nookazon to get that one perfect piece of furniture. Many players have been looking forward to the autumn season, featuring a slew of adorable themed items like Maple Leaf Pochette and Tree's Bounty Arch. Unless folks reside in the Southern Hemisphere, have been time-traveling, or have traded fall-themed recipes for millions of bells, this is the first opportunity to begin crafting the long-awaited autumn recipes.

How to Get Recipes

Players will need to do two things before they will be able to craft Pine Cone and Acorn recipes. Firstly, players will need to gather Pine Cones and Acorns to craft these recipes, as well as some other generic components. And to get the DIYs into the recipes list, players will have to either shoot down balloons with a slingshot or find them washed up in bottles on the beach. Recipes spawn completely at random this way. Alternatively, DIYs can be traded with other players if they still have the recipe card.

For players wondering where Maple Leaves are, they'll have to wait a little longer. For folks in the Northern Hemisphere, Maple Leaves won't begin falling until November 16th and will be available until the 26th of the same month, similar to how Cherry Blossom Petals function. Mushrooms can be found around the same timeframe. Unfortunately, this means any of the above items that contain a Maple Leaf as a component won't be craftable until later in the season.

Also later this season will be the spooky Halloween event. If New Horizons follows a similar format to past games, players will get to trick or treat and meet the NPC Jack. Not much is known about the New Horizons Halloween event, but it will roll around sometime in October.
