Animal Crossing: New Horizons is one of the most popular games on the Nintendo Switch today. It came out during a unique time when many fans were stuck at home with not much to do, which is perfect given the nature of the game. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players are invited to a getaway island alongside two randomly selected animal villagers to live out their lives.

One of the best parts is when players also build relationships with their villagers, gifting them items, visiting their homes, and playing mini-games with them ultimately earning their framed picture. There are almost 400 different villagers to find and invite in New Horizons, some more unique than others, giving players incentive to look for their favorites. Teddy is among those villagers, keeping it as simple as it gets.

Teddy the Loveable Bear Villager

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons players can fill their island with up to 10 animal neighbors with varying degrees of personality, style, and interests. As such, fans of Animal Crossing have chosen their favorite villagers that they might spend a lot of time and money trying to hunt down. Some are more popular than others for reasons that may be specific to the player, and one such popular villager is a bear named Teddy. The aptly named Teddy sports a chestnut-colored coat and a cream-colored snout and is a bear that is very reminiscent of the standard teddy bear. He has thick Eugene Levy-like eyebrows and his eyes are usually closed, sometimes being perceived as being calmer than his personality lets on.

Villagers in Animal Crossing will have one of eight personality traits, ranging from Peppy and Sisterly to Snooty and Lazy. Teddy sports the Jock personality and will get along with other Jock villagers, as well as the Cranky, Peppy and Sisterly villagers. Comparatively, Teddy will conflict with the Lazy and Snooty villagers if he chooses to interact with them. Despite his calm look, he is highly motivated and hyperactive, sometimes challenging the player to catch bugs and fish. Teddy loves sports and bodybuilding, like many Jock types, and can be seen exercising around the Plaza or their house, either lifting weights or doing yoga. After a long day, Teddy will sleep at 12:30 AM and wake up at 6:30 AM.

Teddy is one of the more simpler-designed villagers in the Animal Crossing series and has made an appearance in every single game in the franchise. Despite his simple appearance, he is among some to be a long-time favorite, possibly due to his teddy bear-like design, or he may have been a long-time villager in a player's previous Animal Crossing game. Whatever the reason, Teddy the bear will likely make more appearances in future Animal Crossing titles.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now for the Nintendo Switch.
