Animal Crossing: New Horizons is keeping boredom at bay for most of us during the lockdown, and not just with its addictive gameplay. Fans are now creating K.K. Slider inspired albums of their own, based on real bands to while away the time, and here we have collected ten of the best for you to appreciate.

K.K. Slider is a popular character within the game; once your island has a three-star rating, this music artist will visit your island and perform live and then visit every Saturday that follows. Additionally, you can buy and collect his songs to play on your music players in-game, you can check out a full list of his songs here.

10 Aladdin Sane by David Bowie

Twitter user Kakimari decided to go for a classic and reimagined K.K. Slider as David Bowie with his sixth album, Aladdin Sane. There were several fan-made David Bowie/K.K. Slider crossovers, but we had to give the edge to this one for its sheer iconic status and brilliant artwork.

The K.K. songs within the game can often sound similar to their inspiration, such as K.K. Adventure sounding very similar to the Pirates of the Caribbean title track. With that in mind, we reckon that this fan-made K.K. song would probably sound like The Jean Genie.

9 Folie à Deux by Fall Out Boy

Here we see a new version of Fall Out Boy's fourth album, Folie à Deux, with the two characters on the front morphing into two well-known Animal Crossing characters, K.K. Slider and Tom Nook. This fan album was included on this list because of its on-point art style that perfectly manages to replicate the original album cover.

This particular album parody hits close to home for Animal Crossing players, as it often feels like we constantly have Tom Nook on our back, riding us about our mortgage repayments and his multiple requests to improve the island.

8 Hypnotize by System of a Down

System of a Down's Hypnotize album gets a new look with this fan creation. It might be hard to imagine K.K. Slider as Serj Tankian seeing as our favorite canine is more casual-cool than hard-rock, but there's no denying that this album cover works extremely well as a crossover.

This artist gets bonus points for taking one of our greatest fears, clowns, and utilizing that to make this cover even creepier than it was before with its use of the clown-sheep resident — Pietro. The little ominous K.K. faces add to the eerie quality of this piece too.

7 Nevermind by Nirvana

Twitter user BadTurquoise has taken Nirvana's iconic Nevermind album cover and given it the Animal Crossing treatment. The baby has been replaced by K.K., of course, and the best part is the dollars have been replaced by bells. It's that perfect little detail that earned it a spot on this list.

There is more than one great track on this album, but we'd like to imagine that if you put this in your Animal Crossing music player you'd hear K.K. singing a grungy version of Come as You Are.

6 Demon Days by Gorillaz

Here we have a K.K. Slider version of the Demon Days album by Gorillaz, replacing the band members on the cover with four Animal Crossing NPCs; Tom Nook, K.K. Slider, Isabelle, and Blathers.

This fan mock-up gets a mention because of just how well the artist has managed to replicate the original art style, giving us the gritty make-over of some of our favorite Animal Crossing characters that we never knew we needed. Perhaps this is an insight into what our beloved characters would look like if the island's economy went bust.

5 Random Access Memories by Daft Punk

Twitter user alephammers created two different K.K. Slider album remakes, but the one that makes this list is the parody of Daft Punk's Random Access Memories. Not only does the art of this look great, giving us a robotic presentation of our best good boy, but we also appreciate the detail of changing the album name to Random Crossing Memories.

This album is best known for its Get Lucky track, so naturally, this would have to be the song that K.K. covered if this were a real Animal Crossing pastiche tune.

4 Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge by My Chemical Romance

This fan creation deserves a mention for its clever use of changing the band name from "My Chemical Romance" to "My Khemical Slider", as well as further changing the album name from "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" to "Three Cheers for Sweet Bells".

The artwork style is spot on when compared to the original album cover and we also get to see a rare female K.K. in action; do we think she's called Helena? There are a few well-known tracks that K.K. could cover, but we reckon that The Ghost of You would be a great choice as it could be changed to "The Wisp of You".

3 How to Be a Human Being by Glass Animals

Twitter user Barley_Juice_ has put a lot of effort into this album cover parody and the result is a colorful image that incorporates more than one of our favorite Animal Crossing residents. The details in this are astounding, not just down to the art style but also because they've chosen residents that appear to match the personality of the people in the picture. For example, the jock basketball player in the original album has been replaced by jock resident Tybalt.

The only criticism we have is that they missed a trick by not changing the album name from "How to Be a Human Being" to "How to be an Animal".

2 In the Aeroplane Over the Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel

This Animal Crossing parody version of Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea album has cleverly replaced the blank-faced woman in the original artwork with Blanca, an Animal Crossing character that begins with a blank face before players draw her a new one. Regrettably, Blanca has yet to make an appearance in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but maybe she'll be added in a future update much like Leif was recently added.

Not only is the art style in keeping with the original, but the additional background features make this all the more amusing, with a swimmer replaced with Orville and an Animal Crossing balloon and present floating by as an extra detail.

1 Contra by Vampire Weekend

Twitter user raptorhythm has taken Vampire Weekend's Contra album and recreated it into an Animal Crossing version. The standout feature of this fan creation is that they've changed up the pretty blonde on the front to Animal Crossing's most beloved blonde NPC character, Isabelle, while still keeping the dazed expression of the original.

Another small feature worth noticing is that the Ralph Lauren logo on the girl's polo shirt has been changed to the Animal Crossing leaf logo. It's attention to detail like this that makes this fan creation well worth including in our list.
