The official Jersey Shore Twitter account posted a video of recreating a scene from the show inside Animal Crossing. The video is overlaid with audio from an episode in the 2018 line up of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, which the Animal Crossing scene aims to remake. Villagers have been casted to play the parts of Vinny, Ronnie, and Paulie, while the playable character performs the part of Mike.

The scene recreates the “bromitment” of Ronnie and Paulie D’s bromance at a wedding chapel in Las Vegas. As the two friends exchange their vows in front of an Elvis impersonator, Mike eats the cake that came with the ceremony. In the Animal Crossing recreation, the player character Mike sits in the pews while he watches the ceremony and snacks on the cake. The Animal Crossing emotes also work themselves into the scene that flows well with what’s happening in the video.

The Animal Crossing remake stays true to the original scene and is sure to entertain fans of both franchises. The many tie-ins to different media representations speaks to Animal Crossing’s popularity which has spiked dramatically since its release. Some of that popularity can be attributed to the coronavirus and how Animal Crossing: New Horizons allows players to connect over long distances, but it also speaks to the quality and flexibility of the game that allows all of these fan recreations to be possible.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Nintendo Switch.
