Animal Crossing: New Horizons remains one of the top games of the year with players recently super excited about the second summer update that adds in the sorely missed Dream feature, where players were able to visit their friend's towns in dream worlds. This also means the return of the NPC Luna, who oversees the Dream Suite.

Part of the fun of Animal Crossing is collecting your favorite villagers and there's a wide range of animal types to be found. When it comes to goat villagers, there are ten in total, but not all of them have made their way to New Horizons. Check out all of the goat villagers the entire series has to offer just below.

10 Velma

Velma is the only female goat in the series to have a beard and with her glasses, freckles, and brown hair, she has a striking resemblance to Velma Dinkley from Scooby-Doo, likely her namesake. She has the snooty personality type, which means she can come across as rude and condescending at times, not only to the player but to other villagers too.

Velma's house in New Horizons is quite grand, with elegant bookcase wallpaper, a grand piano, and other musical instruments and devices.

9 Sven

Sven appeared in the Japanese-only Animal Forest titles, with his only western appearance being in the original Animal Crossing for the GameCube. This lazy goat villager has been forgotten since, though there's still a chance he'll be added back if Nintendo does something similar to what they did with New Leaf, where they implemented the Welcome Amiibo update that added a host of villagers.

Sven looks very much like an old man with his droopy white mustache, beard, and thick bushy brows. His house in Animal Crossing had a strange decor in that it consisted largely of a lot of wagon furnishings.

8 Billy

Billy first debuted in the Japanese-only title Animal Forest for the Nintendo 64. His name comes from the term "billy goat", largely associated with the fable called Three Billy Goats Gruff. Billy is a jock type personality, so he loves to chat about fitness routines and you will often find him working out.

His closed eyes and white beard coupled with his catchphrase of "dagnaabit" gives him an old man vibe. Billy's house is a bit of a mess, with garbage flooring and cardboard furniture.

7 Iggy

Iggy appeared in the early Animal Forest titles in Japan, but overseas players only got to see this goat in action in the original Animal Crossing for the GameCube. This blue goat sports a large mustache and has white hair. His eyes are so wide that even while happy– when villagers normally close their eyes in an upward curve– he cannot close them fully.

As a jock personality type, Iggy is very competitive and really into fitness and exercise. His catchphrase is "paaally", which seems to be the word "pally" as a term of endearment, like "pal", mixed with the sound a goat makes. Perhaps he will be added to New Horizons in a future update.

6 Gruff

Much like Billy, Gruff's name is a reference to the Three Billy Goats Gruff story, as well as being rather fitting as he is of the cranky personality type. Gruff's default outfit and home reflect his interest in all things rockabilly, and he has the music hobby, which is evident from the drum kit in his house.

Though Gruff appeared in many of the early Animal Crossing titles, he was missing from Wild World as for some inexplicable reason, all goats apart from two were removed from the series at that point, leaving only two female goats in that title and the sequel City Folk. More goats didn't make a reappearance until the release of New Leaf.

5 Kidd

Kidd first appeared in the Japanese-only Animal Forest e+ as a lazy character but was reintroduced in New Leaf as a smug personality type. His name is derived from the term "kid", which is a baby goat. Kidd gives off hipster vibes with the default outfit of his tailored jacket, his home decor, and his polite yet cool personality.

He has an interest in education, which means you'll often find him reading a book somewhere. He is one of only two male goats to not have a beard, which gives him a more youthful appearance.

4 Pashmina

Despite her look making it seem as though she should be of the snooty personality type, Pashmina is actually a sisterly type villager, which means she will be very caring for the player and will often give medicine to them if they are stung by wasps.

Pashmina debuted in New Leaf and her name comes from the scarf variant that is made from cashmere, which is a wool fiber obtained from goats. Pashmina features on the cover of Mr. K.K., which is fitting as she has an interest in music.

3 Nan

Nan is an adorable little black goat with a curl of hair on her forehead, golden horns & hooves, and adorable pink freckles on her cheeks. She first appeared in Animal Forest e+ and has been present in every main title in the west since Wild World.

Her name likely comes from the term "nanny goat", while her catchphrase of "kid" relates to the term of the same name for a baby goat. Nan is a normal personality type who has a nature hobby, which means she loves being outside and will often talk to the player about the weather.

2 Chevre

Chevre is the only goat villager that has appeared in every single Animal Crossing title to date. Her name is French for "goat" and her catchphrase of "la baa" follows this French theme. Chevre is a fan favorite because of her adorable freckles and cute appearance.

As a normal personality type, Chevre is super easy for players to befriend and she will get on with most other villagers too. Chevre has a very elegant home that largely features hues of white to match her own snowy complexion.

1 Sherb

Sherb was one of the new villagers to debut in New Horizons and he is arguably the most adorable goat villager to date. Sherb is a lazy villager, which means he's often tired and he has a quirky, cute personality that is rather endearing.

Sherb is a soft blue color with darker blue hair and is house is predominantly purple and green hues, which largely features furnishing from the Cute range. Sherb's favorite song is Hypno K.K., which is likely a reference to his sleepy nature.
