If you look around on the internet nowadays, chances are you’ll find a number of review shows. Videos featuring one person or a group of people sitting down and reviewing something. It could be a video game, a movie, a book, a board game, a TV show, or whatever. These are all over the place, and it’s gotten to the point that pretty much anyone with a camera can sit down and talk about something they like or dislike and put it on the internet.

This whole thing started back in 2004, when independent filmmaker James Rolfe took a few minutes and talked about an old video game that he hated as a child (which happened to be the second Castlevania game). He purposely acted overly angry and different from how he normally acted, as something of an experiment. The video became a smash hit, with many enjoying both the trip into nostalgia and the mannerisms of Rolfe. And thus, the Angry Video Game Nerd was born.

Since then, Rolfe has gone on to make over 100 Angry Video Game Nerd videos, covering both famously terrible games from our childhoods, to more obscure titles we probably would’ve been better off not knowing about. Now that he’s become a true internet celebrity, he’s decided to go one step further and make an Angry Video Game Nerd movie.

Yes, a feature-length Angry Video Game Nerd review, in which he’ll tackle the bad games to end all bad games. The one video game that almost killed off the industry. That game is E.T. for the Atari 2600. E.T. has been credited with causing the infamous video game crash of 1983, and with all the hatred directed towards it from gamers everywhere, the Nerd would pretty much have to go feature-length to cover everything wrong with the game.

Rolfe actually announced that he was planning to start working on the movie about a year ago on his website, Cinemassacre.com. He’s had a script written for a long time, but is only now getting to start on the full movie, with production officially set for spring of next year. And you, the fans, can help him out, as he is accepting donations to go towards making this movie.

Every bit you can give will help, and will make sure this movie is made his way, instead of having to bend to the will of a big-time studio.

We don’t know when this movie will be done, or if it will make it to the theaters instead of being an indie film. One can always hope it’ll make it, though. It really would be a treat to see the Angry Nerd up on the big screen, screaming and ranting in that way that he does so well.

Are you excited for the Angry Video Game Nerd movie? Will you be making a donation towards the production?
