After dominating the Android market place with 30 million downloads, Angry Birds is now setting its sights on the desktop computer. The game is available for Apple’s Mac App Store and now those who can’t get enough of the franchise can get it for free for Windows machines for a limited time. However, this will require an install of Intel’s App client.

Intel created their version of the Mac App Store called the AppUp Center. This app client usually ships with new netbooks with Intel processors, though owners of any PC can download the client for free from Intel’s partner, Best Buy.

All that has to be done is go to the Best Buy website and download the client. Then, users will have to create an account which only requires an email address and abracadabra, Angry Birds will be available for free instead of $4.99. It’s a little bit of work, though you don’t have to give up any important personal data to get the game. It is important to note that this is only open to U.S. residents, and this small hurdle is overcome by just claiming you’re from the U.S. when signing up. Not that anyone would falsify their location…

For those who already have this game on an Android or iOS device, it probably isn’t worth the effort since those devices offer superior experiences. However, if you’re an Angry Birds fiend, and must have this game on every device with a screen then go for it! This can also benefit those who don’t own a smart phone, and want to see what all the fuss is about.

The Angry Birds franchise has given Rovio the ability to just print money and after a recent investment of $42 million dollars, the developer can afford to give the game away to Windows users.

Will you be downloading Angry Birds for your PC or are you tired of the franchise? Let us know in the comments.
