Some reports online are claiming that controversial streamer and social media personality Andrew Tate has developed lung cancer. The former kickboxer has been held in Romanian custody since the end of December after one of his homes was raided by authorities under suspicion of human trafficking.

Andrew Tate's detention in Romania was extended yet again at the end of February, allowing the investigation into his alleged criminal activity to continue while the social media influencer remains in jail. Lawyers have attempted to argue that Tate should be granted bail because of his deteriorating health, citing the presence of lung nodules that demand medical treatment. Despite this, appeals to release both Andrew and his brother Tristan have repeatedly been declined.

Shortly after Tate's fourth failed appeal against his continued detention, medical documents surfaced that claimed a lesion had been discovered on one of his lungs. The findings were the product of a medical analysis conducted in Dubai, where Tate traveled for care late last year, only a few weeks before his arrest. Tate received a chest x-ray and CT scan on two separate visits, which revealed several anomalies, and was seemingly scheduled to have an emergency biopsy of the identified lesion. The revelations were joined by a letter from Tate's GP at the United Arab Emirates King's College Hospital, which insisted he should return to the country for further analysis and subsequent treatment.

Tate's medical circumstances were pushed further into the limelight after his manager claimed that the lung cancer rumors were true on March 3. Medical examinations conducted in Romania following Tate's arrest found a "benign cytological appearance" around the location of his lungs, but the relevant documentation seemingly stopped short of describing it as cancer. Furthermore, his manager has since reversed his previous statements on Instagram, echoing the Romanian reports of a benign tumor that is not presently cancerous. The doctor that cared for Tate during his detention has also confirmed that if anything were to turn malignant, appropriate actions would be taken. Tate has previously described the conditions he finds himself in, which fans have been concerned about since seeing him looking considerably worse.

The inconsistencies have led to some online suggesting that the reports of Andrew Tate's health are a means to build public sympathy and have him escape Romanian custody, but the current record of his appeals suggests that will not be happening anytime soon. Tate has reportedly had his entire car collection seized by the authorities, and the investigation seems poised to levy significant charges against him.
