Andor season one changed the course of history for the Star Wars saga, bringing the origins of the Rebellion to the screen in live-action format for the first time. Seeing some of the familiar faces of the Rebellion before there was even a real Alliance was a fascinating experience.

The grittiness of Andor led it to massive success over the course of the first season. Now that it has ended though, fans have been left with a number of questions about where the series, and the Star Wars saga in general, will be headed from here.

6 How Will The Rebel Alliance Be Formed?

Forrest Whitaker In Andor

It is currently difficult to imagine the Rebel Alliance coming together from the various pieces seen in Andor season 1. While Mon Mothma, Luthen Rael, and Saw Gerrera have been seen and are already hatching rebellious plans, there are multiple factions of the Rebels right now, and they don’t seem to work together too well.

It could be any of these characters, or even Cassian himself, that ends up bringing the groups into alignment. So far, Luthen is still content to sell out other rebel groups in order to further the overall cause, and it will be interesting to see how this ruthlessness progresses and changes as the Rebel Alliance comes together in later years.

5 What Will The Empire Do To Ferrix?

Denise Gough In Andor

In every story about an evil corporation, government, or empire looking to maintain strength, there is closeted weaknesses that the evil must hide. The incredible rebellious moments on Ferrix showed that there are many who want to resist the empire across the galaxy but are unable to do so without the support of others.

Will season 2 bring more of Ferrix or will there be a crackdown on the planet that snuffs out the spark of rebellion seen in the final episodes of Andor season 1? It is possible the Empire will be forced to isolate the planet completely in order to avoid word getting out, or maybe stage a cover-up to try and hide their moment of distracted weakness.

4 How Far Will Mon Mothma Go?

Genevieve O'Reilly In Andor

Everyone has been intently watching Mon Mothma as the first season of Andor went on. One of the best-known Star Wars Universe characters that have shown up in the series so far, Mon has had a difficult season as she begins to fall further into supporting the Rebel cause. While she has the passion and dedication that would be required to become the great Rebel leader she will be, it is interesting to see how much she has been forced to sacrifice for that cause already.

The end of the first season sees the Senator marrying her daughter off to the son of Davo Sculdin. Giving away her only child to the son of a man she hates is already a heart-breaking moment for Mon, and it is unlikely that her pain will be any less as the show continues into season 2. Her family has never been a part of Star Wars media before, so their fates remain unknown.

3 How Will Cassian Continue To Rise?

Diego Luna In Andor

Cassian has been all over the galaxy and has held many roles throughout Andor season 1. From being a prisoner to a reluctant accomplice of the Rebels and then finally siding with Luthen to become a Rebel himself in the finale of the first season, Andor has been a key figure for much of the revolting across the galaxy experienced thus far.

In Rogue One, Cassian was considered a prominent member of the Rebel Alliance, but he is no General or Leader for them. It will be interesting how the show continues to deal with his leadership qualities being buried in favor of continuing to do secret operative work for the Rebels. He appears to be a prime candidate for a quick rise in the Alliance at the moment, but clearly, his growth will be stunted at some point.

2 What Will Happen To Luthen?

Stellan Skarsgaard In Andor

Stellan Skarsgaard’s Luthen Rael is a new character introduced for the series, but one that has made a huge and lasting impact. He was the originator of the Rebel Alliance idea and made it very clear in Andor season 1 that he was willing to go as far as he deemed necessary to destroy the Empire and give others a better tomorrow.

Since Luthen has never appeared in any other Star Wars media, it would be easy to assume his luck will run out later in Andor, and he won’t make it to see the day the Rebels victoriously overthrow the Empire. However, it is possible that he will simply be driven into hiding and can make it past the end of the series. His fate is the biggest unknown surrounding the series since fans have already seen Mon Mothma will survive and Cassian will survive as far as Rogue One.

1 Will Syril And Dedra Get Together?

Denise Gough In Andor

The villainous pairing of Syril, who was disgraced early in the first season by Cassian, and Dedra Meero, the powerful imperial officer looking to snuff out the spark of rebellion on Ferrix, has been an intriguing one. While they haven’t been working together directly, there has been a lot of eye contact that suggests there may be a different kind of spark going on between them.

Andor doesn’t have a lot of time for romance, and neither does the Star Wars franchise in general. However, this duo has provided fans with a hint of future romance that could lead to dastardly consequences for the Rebel Alliance.
