The huge scale of the Twitch streaming platform means that it hosts a wide range of content creators. Many say this is one of the largest appeals of the service, with there being forms of content for everyone to enjoy.

With that being said, it is clearly a difficult task to achieve and maintain success on Twitch. Many of the largest creators on the platform have been subjected to numerous bans over the years because of this, often due to pushing the limits of Twitch's terms of service. One such creator is Amouranth, who has risen to become one of the most successful figures on the site since starting on Twitch in 2016. Over the course of her career, Amouranth has faced six major bans on Twitch, and these bans stem from a variety of reasons.

Amouranth's First Twitch Ban

Amouranth's first Twitch ban came in September 2019, a full three years after she began her Twitch career. While this ban would be a relatively tame one, it would mark the beginning of a long list of future sanctions from Twitch on the creator.

The sexually suggestive nature of many of Amouranth's streams unsurprisingly land the streamer in hot water quite often. With Twitch resultantly keeping a very close eye on the streamer, it is no wonder the platform issued a three-day ban when Amouranth accidentally exposed herself on stream. While playing with her dog on camera, Amouranth experienced several wardrobe malfunctions, leading to her first high-profile - albeit short - ban.

Amouranth's Second Twitch Ban

Amouranth's second infraction would not come until six months later in March 2020. This particular ban is a mysterious one, coming shortly after an IRL gym stream. The exact reasoning behind why the ban was issued remains unknown, although many assume it was a similar issue to her first ban due to the nature of her stream preceding the ban.

While this likely would have been a three-day ban, the punishment was oddly repealed just 27 hours after being issued. Amouranth would lose 300,000 followers at this time, with the streamer blaming it on a technical issue on Twitch's part. This only added to the pre-existing confusion surrounding the ban, with many fans being unsure what to make of it to this day.

Amouranth's Third Twitch Ban

The third Twitch ban for Amouranth would come only a few months later in May 2020, this time for a reason quite different from the prior infractions. It is thought that this ban stemmed from the streamer showing a viewer's profile picture on stream which contained inappropriate content. Like the second ban, this suspension was quickly lifted by Twitch after a single day.

Many streamers usually face a more severe sentencing for their third ban on Twitch, with many fans worrying that Amouranth would face a lengthy time away from the platform. However, it seems that the accidental nature of the slip-up was enough for Twitch to feel that a much smaller suspension was warranted.

Amouranth's Fourth Twitch Ban

Amouranth once again found herself in controversy in June 2021, facing her fourth ban from Twitch. This ban came shortly after the controversial hot tub meta of Twitch, in which mainly female streamers were gaining huge popularity. This saw streamers broadcast from hot tubs to curtail Twitch's terms of service regarding what can be worn on stream, leading to fiery debates among the platform's community.

With Amouranth being one of the leading participants of this meta, the streamer moved on to the equally controversial meta of ASMR streams on Twitch. The borderline sexual nature of these streams allegedly led to a mass reporting of Amouranth's account, with this being the commonly thought reason behind her fourth ban. This ban would last the full three days, with discourse surrounding the streamer reaching a relative fever pitch during this time.

Amouranth's Fifth Twitch Ban

The fifth ban for Amouranth is one of the most confusing, with it still not being known what caused it. In October 2021, Amouranth was simultaneously banned from Twitch, TikTok, and Instagram. Many saw this as a concentrated de-platforming of the streamer, with fans thinking this marked the end of the streamer's presence on Twitch.

Bizarrely, the streamer's Twitch ban would again be lifted after just three days, going against the initially thought severity of the suspension. With this coming at a time when Amouranth was the top-watched female streamer on the platform, it is confusing as to why these simultaneous bans occurred to begin with.

Amouranth's Sixth Twitch Ban

Twitch streamer Amouranth found herself dealing with multiple stalkers during the three days of TwitchCon.

Amouranth's sixth and most recent ban was handed out in May 2023, with the streamer having enjoyed a seven-month period without suspension beforehand. Like many of her previous bans, this recent suspension is also shrouded in mystery, with neither Twitch or Amouranth publicly confirming why the ban was carried out.

Oddly, this ban also only lasted a single day, with the streamer quickly resuming business as usual on the platform. With this being similar to past bans, this recent suspension has started a dialogue regarding the confusing relationship between the streamer and Twitch. It is decidedly unusual for a streamer of Amouranth's high-profile to be subjected to so frequent yet inconsequential bans, especially with so little context behind them.

It remains that Amouranth is one of the most popular creators on the platform, with the bans ultimately not hindering her rapid growth. Although her bans do not seem to be stopping any time soon, it seems that Amouranth will not be leaving Twitch anytime soon.
