The new Scream movie is in theaters right now and has earned mostly positive reviews from critics, with many praising it as perhaps being the best Scream sequel to date. There's been a big marketing push for the new Scream movie in video games, with Ghostface added to Call of Duty: Warzone a couple months ago, and now popular social deduction game Among Us is the latest to cross over with the slasher movie franchise.

Among Us has announced a collaboration with Scream, including a stream of the game that pits actors from the movie against various streamers. The Among Us x Scream crossover will also include cosmetics, naturally, with fans soon able to get their hands on a Ghostface costume for their crewmates. Release date and pricing information for the Scream cosmetics in Among Us have not been announced at the time of this writing beyond that they are "coming soon."

A crossover with the new Scream movie makes a lot of sense for Among Us because of the nature of the game. In Among Us, the goal is for players who are designated the "Imposter" to go around, secretly killing off the crewmates one by one. Meanwhile, the crewmates have to figure out who the Imposter is and then successfully vote them out of the game. While it is clearly inspired by The Thing, this is a concept that's not unlike the Scream movies either. After all, the Scream movies are all about characters getting killed off one by one with the surviving cast members having to work together to figure out who's behind it all.

This is far from the first crossover content that's been featured in Among Us. Thanks to the game's massive surge in popularity, Among Us has had multiple crossovers, adding things like Ratchet & Clank cosmetics for its PlayStation debut and League of Legends cosmetics to promote the release of the critically-acclaimed Netflix animated series based on the game, Arcane.

While Among Us isn't quite as popular as it once was, the game still has a sizable fanbase and is now readily available to even more players. Among Us recently made the jump to PlayStation and Xbox platforms, opening it up to a wider audience. Among Us has reportedly enjoyed success on PlayStation so far, becoming one of the most-downloaded games of December 2021.

Among Us is also available on Xbox Game Pass, so Xbox gamers have pretty easy access to it as well. And hopefully soon Among Us players across all platforms will be able to get their hands on the Scream cosmetics.

Among Us is available now for mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
