Many are flocking to Among Us as it continues to get updated with new maps, tasks, and general game changes. Some returning players however may be confused upon opening the game again to see that they need an account in order to play with a name of their choosing.
It is understandable to not like having to make even more accounts for games, especially when the game originally didn't require one. Luckily for Among Us players, the account creation process can be completed in under 30 seconds, letting players quickly join their friends for more crewmate and imposter shenanigans.

It's still the go-to choice for celebrities and streamers in addition to being a staple for families and friends. Of course, part of the fame has been its ease of access. Chalk it up to growing pains as the scope of the player base all but forced the developers to have some kind of account login. The original version of this article had full paragraphs detailing how to log in. This has been updated with a step-by-step checklist and pictures to make it easier for gamers to log in and get to the action as soon as possible.
How To Create An Account
- Open the game
- Click "Account" in the upper lefthand corner
- Make a name
- Click "OK"
Note that there is no e-mail or password required. This account is purely for Among Us only and links gamers with a specific name and unlocked customizations.
When creating a username, certain words cannot be used if they are deemed to be inappropriate. Usernames don't have to be unique, meaning that multiple players can have the same name in Among Us.
This name can be changed at any time from the account menu when players are outside of game rooms and lobbies.
With the Among Us community back in full swing now is the perfect time to play together with friends and explore all of the new content. There is plenty to enjoy and experience, with likely more coming in the game's future.
Among Us is currently available for Mobile, PC, and Switch. An Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S release is planned for 2021.
