Among Us, the social deduction game developed by InnerSloth, has been revitalized since its release on June 15, 2018. In 2020, Among Us received worldwide popularity and has attracted the attention of streamers, music artists, and even a politician. The astounding and unexpected success of the game inspired InnerSloth to continue improving Among Us. Since then there have been numerous fixes, updates, events, and even a new map.

Inspired by InnerSloth's Henry Stickmin franchise, the Airship is the newest addition to Among Us. This aerial transport now serves as a map for crewmates – and imposters – to explore. Fans eagerly anticipated the Airship's release and now that it's finally here, players can expect everything advertised and more.

10 A Huge Map

The New Among Us Airship

The Airship accurately reflects the massive size seen in the Henry Stickmin games, exceeding both Polus and Mira HQ.  Every part of the map is true to the Airship in Henry Stickmin and players can visit notable areas seen in the games. There are many rooms, intersections, and multiple levels that make the Airship a confusing but fun map to navigate.

Nearly every space has multiple entrances or dead ends, giving the map a maze-like layout. Players will often get lost in confined spaces or between a network of hallways. The minimap will be a player's best friend as they journey through the complex Airship.

9 Easter Eggs

The developers at Innersloth have been known to hide many Easter eggs in their games, especially references between Among Us and Henry Stickmin. The Airship itself was taken from the Henry Stickmin Collection and every room, task, and mechanic is related to the game in some way. Even the new cosmetics and death animations are based on characters and notable scenes from the game.

InnerSloth games aside, there are many callouts to pop culture. Throughout the map, players can find references like the Energy Sword from Halo, or the familiar backpack and bird from Banjo-Kazooie. Players with an eye for art can appreciate the classical paintings of Leonardo da Vinci and Vincent Van Gogh in Among Us style lining the walls of the Airship.

8 New Apparel

Airships New Cosmetics

Among Us is known for providing players with many cosmetics they can use to make galactic fashion statements. Several different bundles are available for players to purchase, giving their astronaut much more customization than just their suit's color. There are numerous hats, skins, and even pets for players to choose from.

The Airship update has added Henry Sitckmin themed cosmetics for players. Fans of the franchise can mimic the looks of their favorite characters. Players can be the cybernetic Right-Hand Man or Henry Stickmin's friend – or foe – Ellie Rose. Even players unfamiliar with the Henry Stickmin franchise can appreciate the unique outfits this bundle provides.

7 New Tasks

New among us tasks

Tasks are an important part of Among Us, as they provide crewmates with an alternative way to win. With practice, crewmates can master every task and improve the crew's chances of winning. In the Airship, tasks from previous maps have mostly been replaced.

The new tasks of the Airship will have players wishing for the simple tasks of other maps. Almost every new task requires an extensive amount of time or effort to complete. The size of the map is also an issue, since the crew will have to travel a great distance to complete tasks. Practice makes perfect though, and eventually, players will be able to execute the Airship's tasks easily.

6 New Ways To Move Around

Numerous mechanics exist within Among Us, including door sabotages, venting, decontamination doors, etc. These additions are meant to create a unique interactions between players and the map. Imposters can close doors and vent throughout the map, while the crew cautiously avoids potential danger. The Airship introduced two new mechanics that can lead to intense or hysterical moments.

Ladders and moving platforms create a new way to travel in the Airship. Ladders give players access to new levels of the Airship. The moving platform allows players to cross the middle of the ship easily. These new ways to move across the map are much different than anything seen before.

5 New Strategies

The Among Us Airship Cockpit

With every Among Us map, there are unique strategies for both crewmates and imposters. For example, an imposter might use Mira HQ's expansive vent system to kill and retreat unnoticed, or a crewmate might watch vitals on Polus to track deaths and call a game-winning meeting. Over time, players will develop specific methods that will almost always guarantee a win.

Less than a week after its release, players had already created basic strategies. The massive size of the map and the numerous dead ends allow imposters to kill covertly. Following unsuspecting crewmates to these nooks and killing them is the most effective imposter strategy.

4 Difficult Crewmate Matches

A Crewmate Being Attacked By An Imposter

Among Us can be challenging for crewmates, depending on the crew's competency. Staying alive, doing tasks, and being a detective is a lot of responsibility. If each crew member does their job and provides crucial details, games will be much easier. However, if crewmates fail to do their task and attain no information, the match will be over quickly. Working together is the key to winning as a crew.

The Airship's size and structure make games very difficult for crewmates. There are many places where crew members can be isolated and killed without detection. Usually, by the time a crewmate does find a body, the imposter has already escaped. To minimize the difficulty, players should stick together and keep tabs on crewmates that wander into dangerous territory.

3 Easier Imposter Matches

When crewmates work cooperatively, it is much easier for them to win. Imposters must maneuver around maps and eliminate crewmates strategically, all while avoiding suspicion. It is a delicate balance that not many players can maintain. Only advanced players can keep up the facade and kill without drawing attention. Fortunately, the Airship is perfect for less experienced imposters.

The Airship's size and multiple nooks allow imposters to kill with little chance of being discovered. Imposters can kill in these spaces and retreat without concern. The ease of winning as an imposter has sparked debates among fans about the fairness of the Airship. However, just like any map, there are pros and cons to being an imposter. In the end, imposters should never let down their guard.

2 Crew Tools

The cameras in the Airship map

Every Among Us map has a set of tools that crewmates and imposters can use to gather information. Each of these devices has a unique function that aids crew members in different ways. Players can deny an imposter win by checking Vitals and calling a meeting, or they can check Cameras and catch an imposter in the act.

Fortunately, the Airship has many of the crew tools from other maps. Vitals, Cameras, and Admin can all be found throughout the Airship. These tools are very helpful as they can provide crewmates with information that they would not receive wandering the map.

1 Imposter Sabotages

Split Image Of The New Among Us Sabotage

Imposters can initiate sabotages that will delay tasks, provide an opportunity to kill, or win the game instantly. Players should understand how each sabotage works and when to use them. They can call reactor (or similar game-ending disasters) when only one or two kills are needed to win, or they can shut off the lights and kill.

The Airship reintroduces some sabotages from other maps, along with a new game-winning disaster. The flight crash course sabotage requires two crewmates to input a code within the allotted time frame to set the ship back on course. The code changes within seconds, requiring precise timing and effective teamwork. During this disaster, imposters can kill isolated crewmates or stall the crew's progress.
