Many are enjoyed the recent inclusion of the Sanrio crossover villagers in the recent update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. While they are locked behind special amiibo cards that have unfortunately sold out quickly, there are still plenty of other amiibo villagers that still haven't been added to the game.

Amiibo exclusive villagers didn't first appear in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, rather they premiered in Animal Crossing: New Leaf for its Welcome Amiibo update. There, players could have Amiibo villagers visit their town's campground in RVs containing a variety of exclusive clothing and furniture items.

While most may know the Sanrio villagers, there are additionally more amiibo villagers that are themed around the Legend of Zelda and Splatoon. These villagers additionally didn't require exclusive amiibo cards and could instead be accessed via pre-existing amiibo figures. The recent addition of the Sanrio villagers could mean that these villagers may also be coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the future.

Animal Crossing Wolf Link

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, players could invite Wolf Link to their campgrounds by using a Super Smash Brothers Link, Super Smash Brothers Zelda, or Wolf Link amiibo figure in their game. Wolf Link is a smug wolf villager with his birthday being the same as the Japanese release date for Twilight Princess.

Through him, players can obtain the Hyrulean Treasure furniture item, Hylian Shield furniture item, Heart Container furniture item, Wolf Link outfit, Zelda wig, and Princess Zelda Dress. As a Legend of Zelda-themed villager, players will also be able to get the Link hat, Link outfit, New Hero wig, New Hero's outfit, Hyrule wall, Zelda floor, and Heart furniture item.

Medli

Animal Crossing Medli

The next Legend of Zelda amiibo villager is Medli, a character originally appearing in The Wind Waker. In Animal Crossing, she is a normal bird villager that can be invited with a Toon Link or Toon Zelda amiibo figure. Like with the Wolf Link villager, the Medli villager has a significant birthday, being the original release date for The Wind Waker.

By inviting her, players can gain access to the Cucco Ornament furniture item, Medli's outfit, Fairy Bottle furniture item, Hero of Time Scroll furniture item, Piece of Heart furniture item, and the Rupee furniture item. Players will also gain access to all of the other general Legend of Zelda items previously listed with Wolf Link.

Epona

Animal Crossing Epona

Link's trusted horse Epona is also a villager that appeared in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. There she is a peppy horse villager that can be invited by players using a Sheik, Ocarina of Time Link, Link Rider, or Majora's Mask amiibo with their games. Her birthday is on the same day as the original release date of Ocarina of Time.

Epona's offered items are the Piece of Heart furniture item, Epona's outfit, Sheik Mask, Sheik outfit, Sheik pants, Gossip Stone furniture item, Lon Lon Milk furniture item, and the Termina's Moon furniture item. Like the previously mentioned amiibo villagers, Epona also offers the other standard Legend of Zelda villager items listed with Wolf Link.

Ganon

Animal Crossing Ganon

The evil king Ganon himself is the final Legend of Zelda amiibo villager that players can get in their towns. He is a cranky pig villager that can be invited by scanning a Ganondorf, Bokoblin, or 8-bit Link amiibo figure. His birthday is the date of the original Legend of Zelda's release date in Japan.

Through Ganon, the last batch of Legend of Zelda items that players can get are the Hyrulean Treasure furniture item, Rupee furniture item, Ganon's outfit, Ganondorf wig, Ganondorf outfit, Ganondorf pants, and the Bomb furniture item. Players can also get the other Legend of Zelda items that were made global to all Legend of Zelda villagers already listed with Wolf Link.

Moving on to the Splatoon-themed villagers, the first is Inkwell, a jock octopus villager. He can be invited via scanning an Inkling Boy, Inkling Girl, or Inkling Squid amiibo figure. Fitting with Inkwell's connection to Splatoon, his initial phrase is "Splat!"

Cece

AC Cece Callie

Viche is Cece's sister in Animal Crossing lore, making them share quite a lot of items. The items offered through Viche are the Inkopolis wall, Inkopolis floor, Marie wig, Marie dress, Marie shirt, Marie shoes, Marie tights, Inkopolis Chair furniture item, Inkopolis Sign furniture item, Inkopolis Table furniture item, Left Splatfest Sign furniture item, and the Right Splatfest Sign furniture item.

Will More Be Created?

With the recent addition of the Sanrio villagers to Animal Crossing: New Horizons and the new Mario themed items, it is very possible that these amiibo villagers could be coming in the future. It also adds the possibility for more amiibo villagers to be created for New Horizons.

Since the amiibo update for Animal Crossing: New Leaf, many more amiibo figures have been released. This gives potential for players to get Pearl and Marina villagers, Pokemon-themed villagers, Fire Emblem villagers, and many more possibilities. Whether or not these new figures will get taken advantage of for the future of Animal Crossing is still unknown though. Players can only hope for more uses with their already-owned amiibo figures.
