While watching each season of American Horror Story is enjoyable, it's also fun hearing about the title and theme. Fans wonder and debate what every new installment will be like, from potential actors to what the plot will be. Ryan Murphy stays mum about details and most of each season is a mystery until it actually begins airing. This works, though, because while it can be tough to wait, it's great to go into the first episode without knowing much because that makes the viewing experience that much better.

Season 1 of AHS, called Murder House, starred Dylan McDermott, Connie Britton and Taissa Farmiga and aired in 2011. The show has explored witches, political terror, a creepy hotel, and a slasher tale straight out of beloved 1980s horror movies. What will season 11 of American Horror Story be like? There are a few things that fans should know about.

The Plot

Every season of American Horror Story has had a fascinating title that suggested the terror in each episode. The show has explored many different aspects of horror, from a coven to witches to a house more haunted than the average scary film setting. According to We Got This Covered, a tweet from September 26th, 2022 from the AHS Zone account shared that season 11 will be American Horror Story: New York City. This was confirmed by the official AHS Twitter account on September 29th. It's interesting to note that both season 11 of AHS and Scream 6 will take place in NYC. It's a fun, busy, chaotic setting that can be absolutely terrifying.

John Landgraf, the Chairman of FX, explained to The Wrap that season 11 won't be two parts the way that season 10, Double Feature, was. Landgraf said, “What I can tell you is that the concept for Season 11 is one story. It actually takes place in different timelines but it’s one subject, one story, with a beginning, middle and an end, like many of the prior stories.”

Fans were curious about what the plot would be, since in April 2021, Ryan Murphy tweeted that he wanted people to vote on potential themes. Murphy tweeted "The #AMERICANHORRORSTORY universe is expanding…” and said Plague, Sirens, Bloody Mary and Aliens were the four themes that were in the running, according to NME.com.
