American Chopper and Epic Games are teaming up to deliver a Gears of War 3-inspired bike for one of their upcoming episodes. Airing on September 12th, this episode will see Paul Jr. heading to the Epic Games’ office to gain a little inspiration for another of his team’s custom made hogs.
Though the episode doesn’t air until this coming Monday, Discovery Channel has sent over some clips from the episode that include looks at Paul visiting Epic Games’ home base and getting a glimpse at some Gears 3 concept art that ended up on the cutting room floor.
Epic’s key Creative Director Cliffy B even goes so far as to explain some of the basic concepts of the Gears universe — stuff gamers have been getting their fill of with trailers in the past months. Check out Pauly’s visit to Epic in the clip below:
But, of course, this is American Chopper, so what takes place in concept and drawings pales in comparison to the finished product. While not completely shown, a second clip for the episode includes brief looks at the bike in its various stages of fabrication — and a pretty cool concept for the steering column and seating arrangement.
With the game only 11 days away, anticipation is at a fever pitch for Gears of War 3. Not only is the title busting out tremendous support through TV Spots and trailers but it has also begun invading your regularly scheduled programming. Our experience with the game thus far has proven that the game is well worth the hype and definitely deserves to be immortalized in bike form.
If you’re interested to see how the team at Paul Jr. Designs are able to bring the fictionalized world of the Locust and COG soldiers to the real world (in bike form) you can check out Monday’s episode of American Chopper at 9PM on Discovery.
Will you be checking out Monday’s episode of American Chopper to see the Gears of War 3 inspired bike? What other video game properties do you think would lend themselves well to Paul’s design sensibilities?
Gears of War 3 releases September 20, 2011 exclusively on the Xbox 360.
