Untitled Goose Game is being referred to differently on Amazon as it mistakenly eliminates a third of the popular indie hit’s title. And its removal of the “Untitled” is now a big joke that is circulating on Twitter.

It’s certain that Untitled Goose Game came out of thin air and swiftly grasped the admiration of many. The puzzle stealth video game was released last year and is set in an English village, where players are instructed to control a goose whose main goal is to disturb the surrounding villagers. But did Amazon not pay enough attention to get the name of the 2020 GDC award-winning game right?

The physical edition of Untitled Goose Game has been extremely anticipated, and finally became available for pre-order at the end of July. However, a little while later, Twitter user Wario64 noticed an error with the name of the game on Amazon’s website and shared it on Twitter. Soon after, Cabel Spencer, an employee at Panic - the company that published Untitled Goose Game -  retweeted the incident and found it rather hilarious.

Cabel explained in his tweet that this probably happened because the Amazon robots presumed the “Untitled” part of the name was a placeholder and automatically removed it. Amazon now displays the title as “Goose Game,” not considering that it was called “Untitled” literally. Memes of Amazon’s blunder are now piling up in response to the humorous incident, because it’s only fair that the funny game gets some funny drama.

As the saying goes, ‘there’s no such thing as bad press.’ Untitled Goose Game was a huge success when it came out last year, and even though it was not as long as some players would have liked, it was rather impressive and enjoyable for millions. Therefore, this ordeal caused by Amazon is only bringing more attention to the game, increasing its awareness and attracting more players. Plus, with mischief-making being the key objective, what’s not to like about it?

Hopefully, the wait for the unique physical copy of the game won’t be too long, as the Amazon Germany Listing indicated that it will be available on September 22. The Untitled Goose Game box is designed with minimalistic art and will include a hand-illustrated Town Map Poster made out of recycled paper, along with a sticker and catalog of items to collect in the game. Until then, players can continue to enjoy the digital release of the game.

Untitled Goose Game is currently available digitally for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
