During a recent Amazon cloud server outage, countless services, products, and games were taken offline for thousands of customers primarily in the Eastern United States. Among the games impacted by today's Amazon outage are League of Legends, PUBG, and Valorant.

Amazon shoppers have been among the thousands of folks affected by the server outage which Amazon has stated was caused by Application Programming Interface and console issues. Because the impacted Amazon server in the Eastern US houses the global console landing page, Amazon users from around the world have been affected by the outage. As of 11:27 A.M. Just like when Google Cloud went down briefly, Amazon's Web Services outage has impacted a significant number of companies such as Cash App, Chime, Disney Plus, Robinhood, Ring, Roku, Instacart, Tinder, Venmo, and more. Amazon services such as Alexa, Amazon Prime Music, and Prime Video have also fittingly been hit by the outages. Amazon has stated that it's identified the root cause of the problem with its cloud server and is working on a fix to restore access for the customers around the world.

The Best Black Friday Gaming and Tech Deals at Amazon

While it's working on a cloud server recovery, Amazon has recommended that users in regions outside of the Eastern US access region-specific consoles through various links. To utilize these different servers, Amazon has specified that the URL must start with the region's name such as US-WEST-2 followed by AWS (Amazon web services), then finally the standard Amazon domain name. Using this trick should allow Amazon shoppers in other regions to bypass the global console landing page, while PUBG fans may have to wait for an official Amazon fix.

Amazon's cloud servers in the Eastern United States that are being most impacted are located in Virginia and Amazon customers outside of the region may not immediately recognize the outage. One of the biggest signs that an Amazon user outside of the Eastern US is still being impacted by the Amazon Web Services outage is slower loading as the network tries to reroute them to a separate server. Although some shoppers were able to cash in on Amazon's Black Friday deals, some may be scrambling to get some last-minute holiday shopping done and are struggling because of the aforementioned outages.

Many folks who can't access their favorite games and services may not have known that they're working off Amazon Web Services, but today's outage gives them an idea of what products are linked to Amazon’s network of data centers. Amazon continues to update its official status page to keep users updated on temporary solutions leading to the ultimate cloud server fix. It's currently unclear when Amazon's Web Services will be restored to its previous functions.
