Twitch has announced its selection of free games for Amazon Prime subscribers during the month of August 2020. Building off the approach of July's free games, the selection is focused mostly on indies, with a few standouts among the bunch.
Treachery in Beatdown City, Blazing Chrome, Chroma Squad, Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn which is the second in the series, and Warsaw will be available to Amazon Prime or Twitch Prime subscribers.
Twitch Prime is either included with an Amazon Prime subscription or users can sign up for the service separately for $12.99 per month. A Twitch Prime subscription includes access to the monthly free game selection as well as other in-game rewards like the Destiny 2 Twitch Prime Rewards.
Warsaw is a gritty strategy game, Chroma Squad is a tactical RPG that's reminiscent of Power Rangers, and Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn is a beat-em-up featuring Shaquille O'Neal in a Kickstarter-funded, ninja battle for his life. But the two main attractions this month are likely Treachery in Beatdown City and Blazing Chrome.
Blazing Chrome has a 9/10 rating on Steam and is a send-up of the run-and-gun classics like Metal Slug. In this free Twitch Prime Game, humans have to shoot their machine overlords to gain back their independence.
Treachery in Beatdown City starts with the US President being kidnapped by Ninja Dragon Terrorists, and the player has to fight their way through some silly enemies to save him.
Along with these titles, Twitch Prime is also giving away a few retro titles from SNK Games like Ikari Warriors, Alpha Mission, Metal Slug 2, and Athena.
