EA's attempt at a looter-shooter, Anthem, launched to pretty harsh fan and critical feedback, with the game barely working a lot of the time, and - at worst - completely crashing consoles. EA has promised that the game will continue to improve as time goes on, but it doesn't seem like fans are buying it, literally and figuratively, as the game has been discounted to its lowest price ever as part of Amazon's Prime Day sales event.

Right now, gamers are able to pick up Anthem's Legion of Dawn edition for just $14.99, an 81% reduction from when the game first came out. The standard edition is available for the same price, but it's worth picking up Legion of Dawn for the extra skins, though only the standard edition is available for PC. Needless to say, this doesn't seem like a good sign for the game's sales. Recent reports have suggested that Anthem has fewer players than Fallout 76 on Xbox One, and, considering how poorly received Fallout 76 was, likely means that Anthem's player base has been steadily dwindling away since launch.

Previously, the game was discounted as low as $19.99, which painted a worrying picture itself. Rumors ahead of E3 this year suggested that Anthem was going to go free-to-play, though it seems that wasn't the case- at least not yet. Of course, any fans that have been wanting to check out the game may finally want to pull the trigger. While the game hasn't been performing as well as many had hoped, there is something special about flying a Javelin around an alien planet.

It'll be interesting to see how long Anthem remains at $14.99. It's possible it's just one of the many Amazon Prime Day gaming deals meant to draw people to the site, but with how long Anthem hovered at other sale prices, there's a good chance that this could be the new standard. Only time will tell, but fans will have to decide for themselves if it's worth it. EA has repeatedly said that it thinks of Anthem as a seven-year game, but it's still difficult to determine whether or not those will be a good seven years.

Anthem is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
