Previously rumors stat the use of Capcom's RE engine for a new Monster Hunter game on the Nintendo Switch. The info came from renowned Twitter user Dusk Golem, who has leaked many details on Capcom games in the past. The RE engine was created for Resident Evil 7 back in 2017. Since then, Capcom has released Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry 5, and Resident Evil 3 using the new engine, providing top of the line visuals that have helped re-imagine some of Capcoms biggest franchises. If true, The use of RE engine should make significant strides in the visuals of a new Monster Hunter game.

The Monster Hunter series has become a major staple for Capcom since its inception in 2004 on the PS2. The series has enjoyed a cult following since with the recent release of Monster Hunter World introducing the game to a whole new audience. The success of Monster Hunter World cannot be understated as the game has collectively sold over 16 million copies since its release, making the game one of Capcom's most successful in company history.

Meanwhile Capcom will be adding a final monster to the robust list already found in Monster Hunter World's Iceborne DLC. Releasing in October, Fatalis, the legendary black dragon, will be the last new major hunt added to the game, marking an end to the fantastic wave of additional content Capcom has provided the game since its release in 2017.
