Fans are cautiously optimistic about Aliens: Fireteam Elite, Cold Iron Studio's combat-heavy entry into the Alien franchise. They have been burnt before by underwhelming, and deeply flawed titles like the infamous Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Unlike Alien: Isolation, which focused more on the horror elements of the terrifying Xenomorphs, Aliens: Fireteam Elite was created to fit more into the action mold, like the famous sci-fi franchise's second film. Fans excited over this prospect don't have long to wait now, and they can find out the exact release time and date for the third-person co-op shooter below.

The day one patch will add a new horde mode, adjust weapons, AI, and difficulty, fix some technical glitches, and add more localization options. Even if players do get the sci-fi shooter early, they might want to wait until its official release to play it, when it will be running at its best.
