Alan Wake Remastered had been rumored for a long time with solid evidence of the game's existence surfacing just last week, but now that it's been officially announced, fans are excited to see what the new version of the game will look like compared to the original 2010 version. Today, screenshots have appeared of the remastered game showcasing what the visual upgrade will be.

Discovered on the game's Amazon UK listing, Alan Wake Remastered looks like it's keeping much of the same aesthetic of the original while also sharpening its visuals up to meet modern standards of graphical fidelity. Especially when compared to the original graphics, Alan Wake Remastered looks like everything fans of the game have been hoping for in terms of a visual update.

It's important to note as well that some of the screenshots are from cutscenes, meaning that the entire game has gotten a graphical overhaul and not just the playable sections. It's common for remasters to exclude cutscenes when addressing issues as they're often pre-rendered and would take additional work to recreate, so it's nice to see that Alan Wake Remastered seems to be going all out with its quality and attention to detail.

Along with the screenshots, it seems like Alan Wake Remastered's price seems to be confirmed by Amazon UK as well. It's currently listed for £24.99 which could equate to being between $25 and $40 based on the common prices for games in the US. There's no US price confirmed yet, but if pre-orders are going up soon as the UK listing indicates, then that information should come with them.

The listing doesn't mention anything about the game's release date, however, according to Niko Partners' Senior Analyst, Daniel Ahmad, Alan Wake Remastered might be coming on October 5. That date falls in line with Remedy Entertainment's statement that the remaster would be coming at some point this fall, but as there's been no official word from the studio yet, nothing can be confirmed.

Alan Wake Remastered seems to be bucking the game's previous trend of Xbox console exclusivity as there are listings for both PS4 and PS5 versions alongside its Xbox one. Fans seem to think that this remaster is intended to remind players of the characters and events that take place in the original game to set up a possible sequel or a tie-in with Remedy's Control. At this time, there's nothing to suggest that's true other than speculation.

Alan Wake Remastered is in development.
