With rumors abound of Alan Wake Remastered being in development, Remedy Entertainment officially came out and announced the title earlier this week. Shortly before the event, screenshots of Alan Wake Remastered were making their rounds after being discovered through a listing for the title on Amazon UK, but it hardly compares to seeing the title in action. The trailer showcases some of the game's greatest moments, now with a glorious graphical upgrade. What makes this announcement so fantastic for PlayStation fans, is that this will be the first time the title will be made available for any PlayStation system.

With Alan Wake Remastered is officially coming this year, 2021 has shaped up to be a good year for horror games. Though it may be from the Xbox 360 era, it's a title that holds up well and still has the ability to scare players. What makes the game so special isn't just its fresh mechanics involving darkness and light, but it is also narratively unique -- like a Steven King novel players can control.

Those who never got the chance to play it when it first came out shouldn't be put off by its age. Don't sleep on Alan Wake Remastered or risk missing out on one of the most original titles in the horror genre. According to the developer, the remaster only came about due to overwhelming support by fans, which is a testament to its popularity.

While being able to jump back into the original once again is enticing, players have longed to see what the titular character has been up to since the game's finale. If recent rumors are to be believed, fans may not have to wonder for very much longer. Remedy Entertainment's next big game is in full production, and it is believed to be Alan Wake 2. Until the studio makes this official, Alan Wake Remastered and both of its DLC episodes will be available next month for the gaming community to enjoy.

Alan Wake Remastered will be available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on October 5, 2021.
