Recently coming into the anime world as an original anime series, Akiba Maid War has made a good impression on viewers with its unique story and portrayal of dark comedy. The Akiba Maid War series focuses on 35-year-old Ranko Mannen and Nagomi Wahira, an enthusiastic character who begins working at the Oinky Doink Café as a maid. Nagomi joins the pig-themed maid café full of optimism but soon learns that it takes more than a nice face and a sweet voice to make a good impression on customers.
Nagomi, along with the 35-year-old Ranken Mannen and the other seasoned employees of the Oinky Doink Café, finds themselves thrown into a world of relentless violence. Being at the bottom of the pecking order in Akihabara, the Oinky Doink Café is constantly at the edge of being eradicated.
6 Yumechi
Yumi is one of the long-serving maids at the Oinky Doink Café, and she is voiced by Minami Tanaka, a well-known Japanese voice actress best known for her performances as Sora in the Beast Tamer anime series and Mary Saotome in the Kakeguri anime series. Given the amount of money she brings in and the number of fans she has, she is clearly the café's most valuable employee.
Despite her cute and charming demeanor, Yumi is a great fighter with more martial skills than the average maid. Ranko bet his life on her when the fate of the waitresses at the Oinky Doink Café was at stake, so it's clear she can be trusted with important matters.
5 Okachimachi
Okachimachi's panda identity was first disclosed when she was living among the staff at the Oinky Doink Café. However, later episodes reveal that Okachimachi is a former maid in a panda costume. Okachimachi was revealed to be the maid that killed Ranko's former boss, Mrs. Michiyo, under the instructions of Nagi, the current head of the Creatureland Group.
Now disguised as a panda, Okachimachi spends most of her days idling about and occasionally helping the Oinky Doink Café maids. That is until she reveals her identity, kills Mr. Suehiro, who has been a frequent guest and a potential lover of Ranko at the Oinky Doink Café, and reveals that Nagi ordered Mr. Suehiro to kill Ranko despite Mr. Suehiro never planning on following through with the plan.
4 Zoya
Zoya's fighting skills are excellent, as one would expect from someone with military experience. She grew up in the former Soviet Union and was nurtured by strict parents. After boxing Ranko for 12 rounds, Zoya, a former hit woman for Taira, the leader of 'The Akiba Fluffy n' Sweet Club,' decided to join the Oinky Doink Café.
Though the latter focused on protecting for most of the time, Zoya's remarkable combat ability was seen as she battled toe to toe with Ranko in the last round before losing. After her loss and the destruction of 'The Akiba Fluffy n' Sweet Club,' Yasuko, the manager of the Oinky Doink Café, got her to join the Oinky Doink Café as a maid.
3 Manami The Crimson Supernova
Right from her introduction, Manami is depicted as a dangerous character in the series. She is one of Maidalien's first and senior founders. From killing Nerula, Nagomi's sworn sister, to attempting to start a war between the Oinky Doink Café and the Maidalien group, Manami's return from prison triggered many turning points in the story. Her incredible strength is her most notable quality, and she exploits it to easily defeat most competitors.
Wielding a bat, Manami is immensely strong; however, as brute strength is her most defining quality, she lacks the necessary guile and craftiness. Played by the Maidalien executives, Manami was gunned down as her ideals were rejected and called a thing of the past.
2 Ranko Mannen
After appearing in episode one of the series as a new employee, Ranko's 35-year-old age and demeanor made her an unlikely candidate for a maid. However, she turned out to be exceptionally useful as she saved the Oinky Doink Café from extermination many times.
With a calm demeanor aided by some time spent in prison, Ranko is very dangerous when provoked. Despite being employed at the Oinky Doink Café very recently, she is very loyal to it, even defending it with her life many times. Ranko does not get emotional for her sake but for the sake of her café. She will always stand up for her café when its reputation is on the line. Ranko's extraordinary martial arts training, stamina, and gun-fighting prowess ensure that the Oinky Doink Café will never again be threatened.
1 Nagi
As the current head of the Creature Land Group, one of the most dominating groups in the whole of Akiba, Nagi is a dangerous and influential individual. She has an interesting past as she is the former-sworn sister of Ranko. With money, power, and influence on her side, angering Nora would be a disastrous idea, but that is what the Oinky Doink Café maids have done again and again.
Sufficient martial skill is required to be an accomplished maid and a highly influential head; however, Nora's level of martial skill is unknown, but the maids she has under her, coupled with her power and influence, make her a very dangerous individual. Her guile is also not to be underestimated as she managed to take over the rival Maidalien group and make the Creatureland group become the sole head group in Akiba without raising a finger and simply working behind the scenes.
