Kaguya-Sama: Love is War hasn’t quite broken out of the entrapment of anime fandom into the mainstream, but if ever there was a part of this anime the world needed to know about it’d be the now famous "Chikatto Chika Chika" dance. Japanese pop star Airi Suzuki did the work of reintroducing this viral moment from the anime to the masses with a near perfect rendition in full cosplay

The "Chikatto Chika Chika" dance is actually the one-off ending theme for Season 1 Episode 3 of Kaguya-Sama: Love is War. It’s a memorable moment that featured a beloved character named Fujiwara Chika singing and dancing in a way that is very much in character for the pink-haired girl. The moment has been mimicked, memed and referenced heavily in and out of anime circles since it debuted and Suzuki breathed new life into it with her own version. There have been other cosplay versions of the Chikatto dance, but Suzuki’s has special significance as the voice behind the classic song that opened season 2 of Kaguya-Sama "Daddy! Daddy! Do!"

The timing for Suzuki to release this video may seem random, but it comes shortly after the Twitter account for Kaguya-Sama: Love is War announced that the third season for this popular anime is definitely coming. While there isn’t an official date for the anime to return yet, a version of the Chikatto dance performed by a singer synonymous with the show is a good way to celebrate.

For the uninitiated, Kaguya-Sama: Love is War follows two high-ranking members of the student council at an elite prep school: Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane. The two are destined to fall in love, but play a game of one-upsmanship in trying to force the other to admit their true feelings to the other. The one who is honest with themselves loses so every episode is a battle in an ongoing war to get the other to say “I love you.” The hijinks of course include other members of the student council including Chika herself.

Suzuki isn’t quite known for her cosplay, but is forever tied to the show as its memorable voice for both seasons. Her opening theme for season 1 was “Love Dramatic” and the second "Daddy! Daddy! Do!" brought out Japan’s so called “King of Love Songs” Masayuki Suzuki for a duet.

It’s unclear whether Airi Suzuki will return to do the theme song for season 3 of Kaguya-Sama, but it bodes well that she likes the show enough to dress up in full cosplay to perform.
