To dominate the battlefield in Age of Empires 4, players need to carefully execute their strategy. This is important to be done even from the early game. For example, some Civilizations can survive the early game without certain resources. While some others desperately need everything.

In each match, Age of Empires 4 players have to raid the map to find the source for important resources. In the end-game, they will even find themselves fighting for a Gold Mine, as Gold will be the most important commodity. Luckily, some Civilizations don't have to join this savagery, as they're able to thrive simply by having unique Technologies and playstyles.

Abbasids Dynasty

House of Wisdom

The Abbasids' end-game goal is reaching the Golden Age. The Age has three tiers, and each can be unlocked by building structures and Landmarks inside the influence of the House Of Wisdom. Building 10, 30, and 60 buildings will grant these buffs, respectively:

  • First tier increases Villagers' gathering speed by 10%
  • Second tier increases research and Villagers' gathering speed by 15%
  • Third tier increases research, production, and Villagers' gathering speed by 20%

House of Wisdom is a great Landmark for the Abbasids. It makes sense why it’s the only Landmark they can construct. With each Wing upgrade, the Civilization gains a more solid ground to support their dominance. The amount of unique buffs and advantages this Landmark gives is incredible, such as:

  • Fresh Foodstuffs: Reduces the cost of Villagers.
  • Agriculture: Villagers farms 15% faster.
  • Improving Processing: Villagers drop more resources.
  • Spice Roads: Traders’ income is increased.
  • Armored Caravans: Traders are more protected.
  • Grand Bazaar: Traders will return an extra chosen resource.

Rus

Hunting cabin

One of the main ways Rus can earn resources is by upgrading their Total Bounties Accumulated. Similar to the Abbasids’ Golden Age, The Rus rank their tiers up when hunting down animals (this also improves their income). With 100, 250, and 500 accumulated Bounties, the Rus will Generate Gold faster from Hunting Cabins. They also unlock the following buffs:

  • First tier increases food gathering by 5%
  • Second tier increases food gathering by 10%
  • Third tier increases food gathering by 15%

The Rus can build their Hunting Cabins around trees, and it will generate Gold passively (based on the number of trees in its perimeter). The Golden Gate Landmark, built to reach Feudal Age, is a place where players can visit every few minutes to exchange resources at a very favorable price. Moreover, when advancing to the Castle Age, the Rus can build the High Trade House Landmark. It acts as a Hunting Cabin with a Deer Spawning every minute. The building also generates 200% more Gold from trees.

Mongols

Mongols gold

Saying Mongols can be deadly at the start of the match is common knowledge. But, saying Mongols can generate so much Gold that they don't even need, is not. The Mongols can plunder Food and Gold from every structure they destroy, giving them the urge to keep raiding enemies. This ability can be upgraded with their Ovoo. It allows Mongols to plunder more Food, Gold, and even Stone.

The Silver Tree can be built to advance to Feudal Age. The Landmark acts as a Market, and recruiting Traders becomes 50% faster and cheaper. Not only that, but providing coverage of Outposts along the Traders' way can grant them the Yam Speed bonus. It will greatly improve their Gold productivity.

Furthermore, Stepe Redoubt is another Landmark built to advance to the Castle Age. It acts as a Ger and increases Gold dropped inside it by 50%. Lastly, their last Landmark, The White Stupa, passively generates Stone without being near Stone Outcropping.
