Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak mostly follows the same formula found in the base game; however, there are some interesting new features that have been added with the expansion, and one of those things are Anomaly Quests and Afflicted Monsters.

These special tiered quests will become available to hunters as soon as they defeat the final boss of the main storyline and roll the end credits. This quest will be the Urgent Quest that appears once players get to Master Rank 5. Afflicted Monsters are essentially whacked-out versions of existing monsters that have been infected with a parasite, making them stronger and unpredictable.

Defeating and carving the monsters from the Anomaly Quests are the only way to obtain Sunbreak's Afflicted materials, such as Afflicted Pelt.

The Monsters that Drop Afflicted Pelt

The Great Izuchi With A Lesser Izuchi

To find Afflicted Pelt in Monster Hunter Rise, there are four Afflicted Monsters that have a chance of dropping it. Players should make sure that they go into the Anomaly Quests section of the quest counter and not the regular quests. Normal monsters will not drop any Afflicted Materials.

There's a 20% chance of getting Afflicted Pelt by carving an Afflicted Great Wroggi, Kulu-Ya-Ku, Great Izuchi, and Great Baggi. There's also a 20% chance of getting the material by breaking the monsters' parts.

What Can be Crafted With Afflicted Pelt?

Here's what Sunbreak players can currently craft using Afflicted Pelt and other materials:
