Different wrestlers associated with All Elite Wrestling have discussed the possibility of an AEW wrestling game several times. A game was always a certainty to AEW, but details about development have been absent. A new report from AEW's Aubrey Edwards, however, now confirms that a game is in the works. Fans just can't expect it anytime soon.

Edwards recently went on the Talk of Jericho podcast, Jericho being one of AEW's biggest stars, and briefly addressed the game's status. She explained her previous work experience working in the video game industry and confirmed she had taken on the role of Project Coordinator for AEW's game. Also working on the project is AEW's Kenny Omega, well known to be a huge gaming nerd.

As for the game, Edwards did have a few interesting details. Beyond the game only being in the early stages of development, Edwards also hinted at some of the features she sees as most important for a wrestling game. Those features being a way to create one's own character and the implementation of in-game interactions between wrestlers.

Ultimately, it sounds like the AEW game is years away from being ready. If it's a smaller game, it could be a couple years, but if it's a larger game it may be even longer. That said, AEW clearly wants this game to be made and is investing in its success. So far, AEW has been surprisingly transparent with the process, so expect to continue hearing updates in the months to come.

The AEW wrestling game is confirmed but not officially announced.
