All Elite Wrestling is probably the best pro-wrestling alternative to WWE. Ever since its launch in 2019, it has received critical acclaim and positive fan response. Within less than a year, AEW has managed to build many unique characters on-screen. On top, AEW has some exclusive PPV events spread throughout the coming year.

There is one question that remains the same every time there is an interview or conference. When will the AEW video game come out? Being a gamer, Kenny Omega has shown deep interest in this and has said that AEW video game will come out and take inspiration from the best wrestling games of the past, like No Mercy. Knowing this, what are some of the top areas the AEW video game should focus on?

10 Individual Character Motion

One thing that a lot of wrestling games have to address in general is animation. The uniqueness of its characters drives Pro-wrestling. Every wrestler who is out there moves and fights differently. So it becomes essential to utilize this information and make every wrestler complete.

The walking, running, standing stances of every character should feel similar to their real-life counterpart. On top, the turnbuckle climbing animations, taunts, and overall resting gesture should be taken into consideration as well. Additionally, the AEW game can have no wrestler ratings; doing this will make sure every character feels like they can beat anyone. Kind of like Street Fighter.

9 Create A Story/Cutscene

If there is one thing that can directly impact the longevity of a video game, it's the replayability and creative options. A create a story mode in the AEW video game will allow players to make their fantasy booking real. This will be a great way to some fantastic machinima work from fans.

As Youtube and other video platforms are booming with creative content, giving players the option to go berserk with their imagination will result in favor of AEW. And the more streamlined the feature is, the better will be the content.

8 New Gameplay Mechanics and Controls

A lot of video games like Mortal Kombat and GTA have perfected the controls. The player movement in these games is simplified, quick, and easy to understand. Sadly, wrestling games are still figuring out the best controls.

WWE 2K20 has implemented some changes in the controls, and fans are still not completely satisfied. A lot of the players want the old controls back. The best way to fix this would be to engineer a new control and gameplay mechanism that provides full freedom to the players.

7 Branched Out Story Mode

Storytelling in AEW has been the most talked-about subject by fans. And the reason is a lengthy and emotional character interaction that pours out for months to build a perfect feud. This is one thing that should stay the same in the AEW video game. The story-mode will probably be the first thing a lot of players try, and an unmotivated design will make them fall out not only from that mode but the entire game.

To counter this, the quirky, unique, shocking nature of real storytelling in AEW needs to be reflected in the game as well. A cherry on the top could be a lot of easter eggs, aliens, zombies, and much more. The sky should be the limit.

6 Crowd Interactions

In recent months, everybody has realized and understood that a crowd is the heart of pro-wrestling. Disappointingly, the crowd has never been treated like a real character in wrestling games.

If AEW needs to create a game that plays differently from the WWE 2K series, this is one thing that can prove as the catalyst. Crowd energy and interactions during a match will completely change the feel of the game. Just imagine performing a heel move and hearing a barrage of boos, coupled with the audience throwing in the junk on the players.

5 Semi-Arcade Gameplay

Here is the loudest complaint by fans for the 2K series. It is too real. It tries to mimic the programming to the point that it forgets to leverages its uniqueness as a game. Gaming is a very different medium in itself, it has a lot of restrictions, but the list of possibilities is even more significant.

AEW should leverage this and focus on providing the most fun gameplay. Even if it means to ditch the realistic show-like simulation and opt for more arcade-style gameplay of WWE Here Comes The Pain.

4 Versatile Creation Suite

Creation suite, similar to Create a story, would expand the life of the game. The AEW video game might not be a yearly release like the 2K series, so it should come packaged with the most versatile creation suite in a wrestling game. An ability to create superstars that are larger than life will help the game last for years to come.

This would mean that the creation suite should allow multiple features such as uploading external assets and images, using your own music and videos. On top, it should provide a wide variety of design features and body types that can be modified beyond the actual limits.

3 Ability To Control Entrance

One thing that mainstream wrestling games still haven't explored is the entrance control. There are a few excellent independent games that allow users to move and taunt during the entrance like an actual wrestler would.  The AEW game should incorporate this feature and build a standard for such interactivity.

Entrances will no longer be just cutscenes but fully interactable part of the match, encouraging players to be more strategic during every second of their playtime. This can be another key feature that defines the AEW video game.

2 Completely Uncensored Experience

If there is one striking difference between the WWE and AEW programming, it's the censorship. In the past few months of its existence, All Elite Wrestling has created promos and matches that are edgy and emotional. Boundaries have been crossed but for good storytelling.

The AEW video game should be the epitome of this quality. By understanding and utilizing the freedom of a virtual game, AEW can opt for a maximum bruise, blood, and gore feature. Moreover, there can be defiant taunts and match types like unsanctioned matches.

1 Role-Play And Open World Elements

The most significant selling point of the AEW video game should be how it plays. There are plenty of wrestling games in the market, which is why AEW needs to strike a difference with its approach. Give players options that are not seen before. Make the game an open-world experience or give the players multiple paths to pursue.

Another great addition could be RPG like elements in the game, which means things like your outfit will directly impact the motion of the character and its fighting ability if it's too heavy. All Elite Wrestling videogame should strive to bring a unique experience to the table.
