Pro wrestler Maxwell Jacob Friedman, more famously known as MJF, responded to a statement made by professional wrestling veteran Miz (Michael Gregory Mizanin) earlier this week. During a podcast interview, Miz had commented on the comparisons that others had drawn between himself and MJF in terms of their prospective heel characters and promotional styles, to which MJF positively responded.

The online exchange between Miz and MJF all began when CM Punk referred to MJF as a "less famous Miz." The comment was made during a promo on November 25th in Dynamite and Edge, later referring to it during his segment with Miz on Raw.

During the Cheap Heat Podcast on the Ringer Wrestling network, Miz was asked his opinions on the compassion made to MJF. "I don't think he wants to be The Miz, to be honest," Miz admitted. "I don't think any superstar, no matter what company you're in, wants to be the next 'this person.' You want to be an original. There are comparisons. I've always been compared to, I was compared to Jericho for a while, I was compared to Ric Flair for a while. I don't want to be compared. I want to be an originator. [...] I don't think he wants to be the next Miz, I think he wants to be the first him. Honestly, he's doing a great job at it. 25 years old. When I was 25 years old, I was still in developmental and Deep South Wrestling and still learning the trade. I wasn't putting on matches on national television and putting together memorable promos that people talk about. I wasn't doing that. Applaud to him." Flattered, MJF responded with a tweet reading, "Miz is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. I look forward to possibly meeting up with him down the road."

25-year-old pro wrestler MJF made his first professional wrestling debut in 2015 and now, five years later, is signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), competing in the Major League Wrestling (MLW). MJF goes by many names, including 'Better than you,' 'The salt of the earth,' and 'the two-year vet.' Recently, MJF helped to found a new wrestling stable named The Pinnacle, won the Dynamite Diamond Ring for the third year in a row, and started a feud with rival CM Punk after Punk interrupted his promo. 41-year-old Miz began as a reality TV star and presenter for MTV but later turned his career into a famous pro wrestler in 2003. By early 2021, The Miz became a two-time World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Champion. The AEW star has compared himself to Miz for some time now, as the industry has praised him for being one of the best heels in the industry, and the Miz is seen to be one of the best in wrestling history.

Despite his tweet, MJF previously stated that he is better than the two-time champion. The AEW fighter insisted that while Miz is an incredible performer, he can't match MJF in his game and promos. However, fans seem to side more with Miz, saying that his promos often leave them feeling empty, and even though MJF says some horrible stuff, it loses its edge for being too much. But with all these comparisons flying around, fans would be ecstatic to watch the two battle it out for the vilest heel in wrestling history, and with MJF's contract with AEW expiring in 2024, the fight could become a reality.

But for now, MJF will have a chance to settle his rivalry with CM Punk - who in his way is very similar to Miz - in the ring on the 2nd February episode of AEW Dynamite.
