Back in June, Nintendo announced that two classic turn-based strategy games from the Game Boy Advance would be receiving remakes. Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp will contain remakes of Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising and bundle them into one package. The first trailer of Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp showed off the game's new art style, along with various improved mechanics and quality-of-life changes that hope to give a renewed experience. Many fans were excited at this announcement, since there hasn't been a new Advance Wars game in years.

After that, news regarding the game was silent, other than it would be released in December of this year. About a week ago however, the game's release date changed, with Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp being delayed into 2022. According to the announcement, the game needed more time and fine-tuning, which necessiated the delay into next year. Fans will be able to experience these games in Spring 2022 instead. A listing has been found that both corroborates this, as well as giving eager players a potential release date.

This listing was found on the Nintendo Eshop, the company's digital storefront that allows fans to get digital copies or demos of Nintendo games. It also shows potential or hard release dates for upcoming games that will be released, with the Advance Wars remake being no exception. Keen-eyed fans who searched for this remake on the Eshop were able to find a possible release date of April 8, 2022.

Some fans were happy that they didn't need to wait long to find out a release date for this new Advance Wars entry. However, it's unknown if Nintendo or Wayforward intended to put this release date on the Eshop, considering the close proximity of news of the delay, and that neither company has given a firm release date after the fact.

Fans of Nintendo are pretty excited, considering how many games are coming to the Switch in 2022. This includes Bayonetta 3, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Splatoon 3, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, and so much more. Advance Wars being in April puts it in-line with the targeted Spring 2022 range, as well as being on a Friday, which is when most first-party Nintendo games are also released. This release date should however be taken with a grain of salt until an official announcement from Nintendo or WayForward is made.
