Controversial Twitch streamer Adin Ross has been subjected to a large amount of criticism for his views and continuous conversations with Andrew Tate, a personality that was previously banned from multiple social media platforms. Ross was on the receiving end of a swatting incident, his second incident since joining Twitch in August, resulting in his stream ending abruptly.

Swatting is an event where an anonymous person calls the local authorities on someone and often results in an unwarranted search of their property, believing something nefarious is to be found. The idea is to believed as a harmless prank, but streamers worldwide have expressed how damaging livestream squatting can be to their personal lives and their homes.

Most recently, Adin Ross was streaming on Twitch when he was interrupted by the sound of a knocking at his door, followed by a call that the local authorities were on the other side. In a troubling video shared by Ross, the streamer is caught off guard by the sudden disruption while on a call, exclaiming he was under the process of being swatted. Ross remained calm while on the call, eventually dropping to his knees and placing his arms behind his head as a sign of compliance. Ross remained calm during the incident, but demanded answers as to why someone could do such an act.

Following the incident, Ross streamed a discussion between himself and the individual responsible for the swatting, known in Discord as EPIC #MonkeyMafia. During the back-and-forth between the two parties, EPIC revealed that he made a promise that if Ross continued to portray his ego towards himself, that he would get Ross' door bashed in. The threat was a notice to a prior incident in which Ross was swatted while streaming to his audience. The swatting appears to be due to a lack of response on Ross' part after a direct message over Discord made by EPIC #MonkeyMafia was not answered.

The swatter appeared to double down on the situation, claiming it was "funny" to see Ross in fear for his life while admitting no wrong-doing, claiming there was never any danger to his life. Ross' history with swatting extends beyond his own experience, having bailed out streamer IShowSpeed on a bond of $20,000 after the YouTube streamer suffered an attack and was handcuffed while entertaining his audience. While the idea of swatting remains a tactic by some as a method to get back at a streamer they are not fond of, it's important to note the short-term and long-term consequences the individuals suffer, as well as possible legal troubles some may find themselves in, if exposed.
