Twitch streaming can be a very rewarding career path, but it's also a very demanding one. The long hours, constant search for new hooks, and need to build the self up as a brand in order to attract audiences can take a serious toll on streamers. Recently, popular Adin Ross announced that he no longer enjoys Twitch streaming and is seriously considering quitting the platform for good.

In the aftermath of laser eye surgery, Adin Ross took a moment to think about his Twitch career and where the future might lead him. Apparently, he didn't like the picture he saw. Soon after the operation, he uploaded a YouTube video slightly over two minutes long titled "quitting streaming" dedicated to exploring the possibility of him stopping streaming.

According to the video, Adin Ross no longer knows where he's going with his streaming career. This information came out close after the massive Twitch data leak, but it seems that Adin Ross's motivations to potentially drop streaming are more personal. He states that he's tired of constant collaborations, intends to move out of Los Angeles, and--most importantly--no longer enjoys streaming on Twitch. He goes on to state that he isn't sure how to recapture the enjoyment he used to get from streaming, and while he's hoping that a new Grand Theft Auto RP world will help, he doesn't know what to do if it doesn't.

Adin Ross shot to internet stardom relatively recently, when he broke from obscurity to one of Twitch's top five personalities in just a few weeks. His strong personality and tendency to feature mainstream celebrities in his broadcasts have caught the attention of many viewers, with some streams getting an average of 100,000 views. However, when he took a break from collaborations, his numbers took a downturn. This, combined with the constant need to up the ante, seems to have robbed Adin Ross of the joy streaming once brought him. While he hasn't confirmed his intentions to quit as of writing, the possibility appears to be on the table.

As of writing, it appears that fans of Adin Ross have been generally sympathetic to the streamer. Several users went out of their way to leave comments assuring him that they watched his streams for his personality, not the celebrity guests, and that he was genuinely entertaining on his own merits. This isn't the first time Adin Ross has come to public attention for his choices, but it may be one of the healthiest. In a fast-paced industry that can lead to burnout, exhaustion, and mental health problems, sometimes taking a step back from Twitch can be very important.
