The Oscars have been an essential part of movies for nearly one hundred years since the first best picture award was given out to Wings in 1929. The Academy Awards stand as the highest form of acknowledgment of those who give their blood, sweat, and tears to create breathtaking works of art in the film industry. Unfortunately, while the Oscars represent the best of the best, the other side of the coin exists to acknowledge the supposed worst of the worst. The other side of this coin is known as the Raspberry Awards, or Razzies for short. Each year following the Oscars, the Razzies hand out its fair share of awards for the worst of the year's movie performances. 8 Robert De Niro
Robert De Niro has been one of the most prominent faces in film since his breakout role that turned him into a household name in the 1976 film, Taxi Driver. De Niro would go on to have an illustrious career in a string of films directed by the proclaimed king of cinema, Martin Scorsese, along with numerous other classic stories.
In 1981, Robert De Niro was nominated and took home the gold award for Best Actor for Raging Bull. However, much later, in 2016, De Niro would find himself nominated for worst actor for Dirty Grandpa.

In 2004's Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, Johnny Depp debuted as one of his greatest characters, Captain Jack Sparrow, and was nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars. While Depp and his performance received monumental praise, just a few years later, in 2017's fifth Pirates of the Caribbean sequel, Dead Men Tell No Tales, Johnny would be nominated for a Razzie for worst actor.

Dancing onto the scene as the heartthrob that Hollywood couldn't get enough of, John Travolta stands as one of the most well-known leading men in show business. With a defining role in the cult classic musical, Grease, John Travolta kept moving to the front of the crowd with hit after hit with films such as Saturday Night Fever and Pulp Fiction.
Travolta would find himself nominated for Best Actor for his role in Pulp Fiction. However, he would also find himself on the Razzies list for Swordfish and Domestic Disturbance.

As an iconic performer who goes all into his characters, Matthew McConaughey has carved out his own space among the bright lights of Hollywood with a wide variety of roles that truly demonstrated the amount of range the actor possessed.
It as at the eighty-sixth Academy Awards that McConaughey was given his due when he was nominated for best actor for Dallas Buyers Clubm and took home the award and a sense of accomplishment. However, the good comes with the bad. Just a few years later, he was nominated for worst actor for Serenity, starring alongside Anne Hathaway.

Robert Downey Jr. Is a performer who needs no introduction, as he is perhaps amoing the most celebrated actors in the business to date. He found an enormous amount of success as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Iron Man. For over fifteen years, he portrayed the Billionaire, Playboy, and Philanthropist of the Avengers.
But Robert Downey Jr. did not start off as a superhero, having begun young and curated a very successful career that has spanned four decades. Downey has been nominated multiple times for an Academy Award for both Chaplin and Tropic Thunder; however, perhaps his most prominent nomination for a Razzie is for his recent role as Dr. Dolittle.

Mark Wahlberg has remained a constant star ever since his early days of performing as a music artist under the name Marky Mark. During his transition into acting, Wahlberg wowed cinephiles and critics with constantly memorable performances. Wahlberg is very versatile in his roles, able to blend into comedies, dramas, and action thrillers.

Jared Leto has proven that he has what it takes to deliver powerful performances that connect with audiences, having been nominated for best supporting actor for Dallas Buyer's Club. Unfortunately, most recently, he was nominated for worst actor for his superhero film, Morbius.

Tom Hanks continued to grant audiences sidesplitting laughter and heart-wrenching tears ins a series of broad roles, from the spectacular performance in Forrest Gump to the hard-hitting Andrew Beckett in Philadelphia.
Having been nominated for Academy Awards multiple times, Hank's career and legend is set in stone. Unfortunately, there has been some scrutiny for the actor for his role in the recent live-action Pinocchio film from Disney which he was nominated for worst actor.
