Last month, United States Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was joined by famous streamers DrLupo, Pokimane, Myth, and many more to host a Twitch stream playing Among Us and encouraging Americans to vote. AOC's Twitch stream quickly became one of the most watched streams in history, boasting over 4.5 million views and 435,000 concurrent viewers. Now, AOC's return to streaming on Twitch has raised a substantial amount of money for charity.

AOC lived up to her promise to return to host another Twitch stream. The US Congresswoman played Among Us again, but this time, used her platform to raise money for charity. AOC's mission was to raise money for local food pantries, eviction defense legal aid, and community support organizations.

During the pandemic, many families have been affected mentally, physically, and financially, and AOC has been a prominent voice for providing aid to those less fortunate. It is safe to say AOC's charitable mission was a success, as she raised over $200,000 during her Twitch stream featuring Canadian New Democratic Party Leader Jagmeet Singh.

For her second Twitch stream ever, AOC was also joined by other notable streamers including xQc, Disguised Toast, and Hasan Piker, who became the most watched Twitch streamer for his coverage of the United States election. AOC's stream lasted almost six hours, and the Congresswoman spent the time playing Among Us and discussing various subjects including Facebook, workers unions, responses to COVID-19 around the world, and the purpose of her charity.

AOC's charity raised a ton of money, but also spread awareness for the positions many families are in during the pandemic. The charity focuses heavily on preventing evictions that may be happening to those out of work or struggling during the pandemic. AOC also shared her charity website on her social media, which has information about the charity and its cause. The website also gives information about evictions during the pandemic and the organizations working together to provide aid.

AOC was able to be very entertaining while also spreading awareness. Throughout her stream, AOC exchanged playful banter with other streamers, got very competitive in the Among Us matches, and even did her best impression of Twitch streamer Corpse, who famously has a very deep voice. All of AOC's charisma and knowledge translates to her Among Us gameplay and her streaming ability. With such a successful charity stream, it would not be surprising to see the Congresswoman return to Twitch again soon.

Among Us is available for Mobile and PC.
