Yesterday was supposed to be the launch of content on the official Abandoned real-time experience app, but, to the dismay of many fans, the update has been delayed to an unspecified date and time. With the many theories and rumors surrounding the project's relationship to Hideo Kojima, many gaming enthusiasts were looking to the real-time experience app for answers that seem to have been put on hold.

After yesterday's technical issues, fans flocked to the official Twitter account for Abandoned's studio, Blue Box Game Studios, to see when the content would be going live. So far, there have been a handful of Tweets giving vague updates on the status of the app, but today's update felt a little more finalized.

The Blue Box Game Studios Twitter account said that the team is still working to solve the problems that the content is experiencing and that the studio wants to deliver an experience that's "a good representation of the game." The following tweet clarified that Blue Box wouldn't be committing to a specific date on when fans can expect the updated content, but that it will go live as soon as the team has resolved the issues.

Many fans have theorized that Abandoned and its real-time experience app are actually fake and a part of a viral marketing scheme for the next Hideo Kojima PS5 title. Although Blue Box and its founder Hasan Kahraman have denied Kojima connections and spoken about how the rumors have hurt the studio's workflow, many still believe that the issues are a part of a wider conspiracy.

Blue Box reminded fans in its tweet from today that it's "a small studio without the wide resources to quickly resolve an issue." Although this was likely said in an attempt to help temper fan expectations, many fans in the comment section have taken it to mean the opposite and that the studio is actually much larger than it's letting on.

Hopefully, Blue Box is able to get the app working soon so that the studio can put to rest any theories regarding the alleged connection to Hideo Kojima. Recent events have added more fuel to the fire when the studio used a promotional image of a blurred-out face that bore a striking resemblance to Metal Gear's Big Boss, so it seems like no one can quite get the story straight on what the studio is actually up to. According to Blue Box and Kahraman, it's simply working on a first-person horror game exclusively for the PlayStation 5.

Abandoned is currently in development for PC and PS5.
