It has been a hot minute since developer Blue Box Game Studios' name has made the rounds. If gamers need a refresher as to who the developer is and what the controversy was that enveloped it, Blue Box's Abandoned had been quite the point of contention.

Abandoned is a survival-horror game but beyond that it has not been detailed or demonstrated otherwise. Even worse, Abandoned's enigmatic marketing teased white lies and Blue Box released a real-time experience app for PS5 that underwhelmed fans due to a lack of content. The app had been delayed indefinitely, and the developer's credibility seems shot. Now, Blue Box's latest efforts appear to shuffle some of its previous statements under the rug.

As reported by Twitter user Lance McDonald, Blue Box has been intermittently deleting tweets that "described specific future plans" for Abandoned. These tweets allegedly spoke about a playable demo that fans would have their hands on at some point, as well as a tweet from a few months ago that spoke to why the real-time experience app was 6GB. Blue Box likely figures that enough time has passed that their post erasures would go unnoticed.

Interestingly, Blue Box's post about its plans for Q1 2022 is still up. It is unclear why some posts have been deleted and others have not, but Blue Box apparently believes that erasing some of its posts will help set the record straight in terms of what fans are supposed to look forward to from Abandoned. Blue Box's YouTube channel for Abandoned was recently hacked, but besides that fans have not heard from the developer since December's development update.

Unfortunately, since Abandoned ceases to even be a game at this point, the only thing fans have to follow up on it is its string of misleading conspiracy theories. Blue Box's development update for Abandoned remarks upon several features that fans are meant to look forward to in the year, such as a tech demo, the "Prologue," and the game's reveal "around the corner."

Indeed, since the game has not even had a legitimate reveal, Abandoned's eventual content drop will need to be substantial if Blue Box hopes to win fans back after its miscommunication blunders. Many promises are still left in the wind that have not yet been removed, but fans can keep a close eye on Blue Box's posts now to see if anything else that was teased, alluded to, or promised is silently erased.

Abandoned is currently in development for PC and PS5.
