There are a total of nine main bosses players will have to defeat in The Ascent's man storyline. Even at the recommended level, each of the bosses are formidable opponents. Gamers will want to have a strategy before the fight begins. Otherwise, they will have to fight the boss again with less than 100% HP.

Anyone stuck on a boss should first re-evaluate their class. Using ballistic weapons against Megarachnoid, for example, will not be very effective. Also, players often forget to use armor that protects them from the type of damage a boss inflicts. If changing up weapons and armor is not enough, use the below tips to get past each boss.

Papa Feral

The Ascent Papa Feral Boss Fight Beginning

The king of the Ferals is the first boss players will encounter in the Waste Recycling Network. At this point in the game, users will likely only have a couple of weapons. The only real danger is getting overwhelmed by the swarm of Ferals. By keeping a distance and dodging Papa's heavy attack, the first fight should be a cakewalk.

Hung Brothers

Hungs brothers the ascent

While on a mission in the Grinder, indents will have to fight two large unnamed attackers. These low-level bosses resemble a boss that will appear later in the game. They have a close melee attack and a flying slam move. Most people will not have much trouble taking them down with one of the level 5 weapons.

Players should have at least one augment by this mission, and they should make sure to use it. Like the first boss, ballistic and fire weapons are preferred. The main concern during the fight will be the flying slam attack. Look out for it and dodge to get past the bosses.

Onyx Void Operative

Ascent Yakuza Boss

This will be the first boss fight that actually challenges users. The operative will be surrounded by bodyguards with Samurai Swords, sort of like Kill Bill: Vol. 2, except the samurai are invisible. Players will want to focus on killing all of the camouflaged samurai first because their melee attacks do a ton of damage. The best way to isolate the samurai is to kite them through the tunnel on the right side of the area. Enemies with swords will funnel in first because they move faster. With the invisible attackers out of the way, finishing off the Onyx Operative will be straightforward. The boss does not have much HP, so the key is getting the adds out of the way for an easy kill.

Siege Mech

The Ascent Seige Mech

The massive mech is the first boss that has a huge health pool. Gamers will want to keep their distance and watch for those red circles that appear when the boss fires missiles. Each missile does 50+ damage. Keep backing up and laying down damage to stay away from the blast radius of the Mech's rockets. Don't go too far though, the mech will retreat to spawn and fully heal if users get too far away. Continue to move back and maintain constant gunfire to topple the robot.

Megarachnoid

the ascent boss battle

Anyone struggling to defeat the robot spider is most likely making two mistakes. The first is fire resistance. Indents should be wearing armor with the highest level of fire resistance. Each of the little spiders explode when they contact the player, dealing a large amount of burn damage. The second is using a ballistic weapon. Megarachnoid is vulnerable to energy damage. If gamers use an energy weapon, they will see an immense difference in DPS. Make these two changes to defeat the boss and pick up the Spiderbots augment.

X28 Havoc

The same principles from the spider fight apply to the flying robot. Use energy/digital weapons and wear fire-resistant gear. Havoc's main attack sends a swarm of missiles at the player. Look for a small gap between the red circles to survive the attack. Characters will likely be around level 15 during the fight, making use of tacticals, augmentations, and modules essential.

For this fight in particular, Neutron Beam's energy attack is preferred. Because the boss does not spawn in adds, it will be a simple fight as long as players avoid and dodge the AOE circles.

Celine

ascent celine

The Ascender operative will hop into a mech for this boss fight. Despite the appearance, Celine is not the most powerful boss one on one. However, managing the hordes of adds while avoiding her attacks can get tricky. Players will want to focus on killing the boss or dealing with the adds. If they decide to kill the adds first, avoid Celine as much as possible. While her health pool is modest at best, she does a lot of damage with the mech.

Hung

The-Ascent-Hung

The second to last boss in the game arrives with a Right and Left Hand. As a solo player, the two mini-bosses should be defeated first. Like the Hung Brothers, this boss is much less of a threat when isolated. Concentrate ballistic fire on the Right and Left Hand first, and save abilities for the large boss. He will perform the same close melee and jump slam as the other bosses from the second mission in the game. With any of the large biological bosses in the game, using one of the minigun variants is very effective. Simply dodge, aim, and fire to kill Hung.

Bright Fennd

Ascent Final Boss

During the final stand in The Ascent, people will face off against the leader of the Ascenders. The boss is human, so ballistics or fire will deal the most damage. Two other things will be crucial during the fight. Gamers must find a way to limit the number of adds. These Ferals will be level 27 and swarm throughout the fight. Using the flamethrower is one option. Another is to run an AOE augment. A few examples are included below:

  • Spiderbots
  • Joyrun Dragon
  • Neutron Beam
  • Propulsion Leap
  • Hydraulic Slam

In the other slot, users will want either Life Transfer or Biometric Timestamp to heal up. The Ferals during this fight are relentless, and people will need to heal. Additionally, the Rejuv Grenade is a good option for those who prefer to use two offensive augments.
