At some point, the God of War series seemed to fade almost into the background, after enjoying the peak of its popularity in the early-to-mid 2000s. That was, however, until the 2018 reboot saw Kratos make a triumphant return to the PlayStation, and on Friday a PC port of the rebranded title will be landing. Considering that the God of War series is one of the most popular games on the PS2, many are excited to see the franchise come to the PC. This latest trailer shows 15-minutes of footage, giving a good idea of how it will look and play on PC.

In a YouTube clip uploaded to channel PlayStation Access, hosts Ash and Rob give some commentary about the upcoming port of God of War. The footage shows the immensely gorgeous visuals, as well as some of the early gameplay, which really shows off what it will look like when it's finally released tomorrow. While the hosts excitedly discuss this PC launch, something unusual for a PlayStation exclusive channel, the opening scenes play out and viewers get to see it in all its 4K glory.

Perhaps the only downside to this footage is that there's no mention of the spec of the system being used to run it. It is known that they are playing God of War using mouse and keyboard, and that the graphics are on "ultra" settings, running at 6fps. For anyone curious about the footage, the hosts do specify that there are no major spoilers in the video, outside some of the early introductory gameplay. Plus, given that they are talking throughout most of it, the dialogue and game sound can't really be heard, so nothing is truly spoiled anyway.

While there has been some footage showing DLSS running on God of War for PC, this 15-minute clip seems to showcase the latest general look and feel of the game, particularly in the first hour of the story. The consensus is that it's looking very impressive, but as with all PC games running AAA new releases, the better the system, the better the game will perform overall.

Of course, those looking to buy the game can check out the PC system requirements for God of War. Ultra performance will require something like an Nvidia RTX 3080 or AMD RX 6000 XT, with either an Intel i9 or AMD Ryzen 9 processor to really make it run at highest quality. That said, the minimum requirements don't ask for much, so even people with mid-range systems should still be able to run the game, it just won't look its most visually stunning.

God of War is available on PS4, and comes to PC on January 14, 2022.
