Nintendo Reveals the Second Wave of Japanese 3DS Games

3DS Games March

As the Japanese launch date of Nintendo's 3DS draws ever closer, more and more news about the system and its games is making the rounds. Nintendo has already revealed the games that will be available at the system's launch, but what other titles can gamers look forward to? Now, thanks to Nintendo Japan's 3DS software calendar, we know what the next round of 3DS games will be.

The month of March has seven confirmed 3DS game releases scheduled, and though many fans will likely be disappointed to learn that Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and Star Fox 64 3D aren't among them, there is still a pretty solid selection of games to choose from. Take a look:

There are several other games listed that are expected to release during March, though they have yet to be assigned specific dates.

Though the two lists contain a few games that will likely remain exclusive to the Japanese market, the vast majority of these titles are clearly destined to release worldwide. Does this mean that games like Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 3D and The Sims 3 might be launch titles for the 3DS in North America and Europe?

It might. UK retailers offering 3DS pre-orders are also showing a suspisciously large number of 3DS games as sharing the system's rumored March 18, 2011 release date. Super Monkey Ball 3D, Dead or Alive Dimensions, and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 3D are among the games listed.

Whether or not any or all of these games make the North American or European launch of the 3DS, it's encouraging to see that a steady supply of games is already qued up for the system. All too often, new hardware launches are followed by extended periods during which practically no new titles are released. Knowing that this will not be the case with the 3DS is just one more reason for gamers to anticipate the system.

Ranters, which of these games are you most interested in playing on 3DS? Which of them do you think will be North American or European launch titles?
