After Nintendo announced a substantial price drop for its 3DS handheld, early adopters were left feeling cheated and betrayed by the company they have so wholly embraced. It was a smart move on Nintendo’s part — making the console more affordable — and it’s certainly helped sales numbers, but that decision still didn’t change the fact that Nintendo’s most hardcore of fans were disappointed.

Then comes the unveiling of the Ambassador Program, a goodwill gesture on Nintendo’s part that would provide early 3DS adopters with a selection of 10 NES Virtual Console games and 10 Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games, and all was mostly forgiven.

Those “ambassadors” have already received their NES games, but there’s still some mystery regarding the Game Boy Advance titles, a mystery that may have been lifted if a 3DS message from Nintendo is to be believed.

Select Japanese 3DS owners only received the message and list, but it clearly labels 10 Game Boy Advance titles as being released tomorrow, December 16th. Those titles in question are:

F-Zero Maximum Velocity

Super Mario Advance 3

The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

Kirby and the Amazing Mirror

Mario Kart Advance

Mario vs. Donkey Kong

Metroid Fusion

Wario Land 4

Wario Ware, Inc. Mega Microgame$

There’s quite the array of games contained within the list, most of which were staples among the Game Boy Advance must-have titles. It wouldn’t be an ambassador list if benchmark properties like Zelda, Mario, or Metroid didn’t make an appearance, but it’s also good to see something like Fire Emblem get reintroduced to the public.

Probably the most controversial choice, at least on Nintendo’s part, is Mario Kart Advance, a lackluster entry in the series and potentially direct competition to the recently released Mario Kart 7. Minish Cap was an excellent choice though.

It’s also important to mention that this list has yet to be confirmed by Nintendo — either via a 3DS message or on their website — but it seems pretty legit since the list has gone out to some Japanese 3DS gamers. Perhaps, with this next wave of ambassador games, Nintendo is going to pick and choose based on each nation’s demographic. All we know is that more games are welcome.

What do you think of Nintendo’s choices for the Game Boy Advance ambassador games? Are there any GBA titles you would have like to have seen instead?
