A Skyrim modder has developed a mod that allows players to add 30-50 feral hogs to the game, having some fun with the meme that went viral on the Internet last week. The joke, which was part of a conversation about gun violence in the United States, saw many gamers create funny 30-50 feral hogs memes and, in one case, someone made a real game about it.

Skyrim players can now take their pick of the game's 30-50 feral hogs mods by using the Wild Hogs - Elements of Skyrim mod. Part of a series by a prolific Skyrim modder name Mikhail, the mod adds a creature called the "Wild Hog" to the game. These wild animals are much closer to the 30-50 feral hogs that Twitter user William McNabb was so frightened of than they are to Skyrim's boar as they live in packs of around 12-15. Mikhail explains that the wild hog is a "big feral swine native from the fallforests of the Rift in Skyrim" as well as Cyrodiil and Valenwood.

Skyrim players who would like to live out the 30-50 feral hogs fantasy can do so with the Wild Hogs mod as although the creatures look friendly, they may attack when approached. Mikhail says that that the groups "live close to small puddles of water" but will attack if players "get too close." So, if a player attacks one group which gives chase and then finds another group of wild hogs to bother, they can get the full 30-50 feral hogs experience.

Players will want to go into these encounters prepared, however. The wild hogs could do some major damage with their tusks and players may have to quickly outmaneuver them so that they don't get overrun. Skyrim doesn't have any assault rifles to take out the feral hogs as McNabb wanted, but there are several other powerful Skyrim weapons such as Zephyr, the dwarven bow, which may be effective.

Mikhail's Skyrim mod was created on August 4, 2018, a year to the day before the 30-50 feral hogs tweet was posted or went viral. However, Skyrim modders do have an aptitude at jumping on memes and making mods out of them. There was the Skyrim Starbucks coffee cup which made fun of a Game of Thrones gaffe, and another mod which mocked Bethesda's failings with Fallout 76. When the next big meme hits, expect the Skyrim modding community to jump on that too.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is out now for PC, PS3, PS4, Switch, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
