Truth be told, 2020 wasn't the best year for everyone. For gaming in general, it has been quite hectic as well, many games have been delayed, and some got canceled. But in all the commotion and the reveal of next-gen consoles, some things were overlooked. That being some game titles that were released on PC in 2020.

Sadly, not many people are aware of these games being on Windows. This is why this list will mention a few of those games that surely deserve more attention than they deserve.

10 Black Mesa

Black-Mesa

Some games fall into developer hell, but this isn't one of those. While Black Mesa was revealed back in 2012 as a mod, it became early access in 2015. This game is the original Half-life rebuilt from scratch. It is currently the most modern way to experience the original game's events while keeping the vibe of the good old late 90s. It is a perfect reimagining of the first game and follows an almost identical Half-Life's story mode.

9 Bleeding Edge

Bleeding-Edge

Most people will know Ninja Theory as the team behind making Dante emo. However, there's no denying the team has a good understanding of unreal engine and has created some really fun to play games like Enslaved and DmC. Therefore it was obvious that Bleeding Edge received some hype when it was revealed, especially due to its builds. However, the multiplayer-only game got overshadowed by many other titles and unforeseen events of the year since it was released at the end of March 2020.

8 Doom 64

Doom-64

Doom games have been the granddaddy of shooters people play today. In fact, many people still love to play retro titles, even though there are newer games such as Doom Eternal out there. Knowing this, people would assume that the release of Doom 64 on pc should've caused some hype. Sadly, it didn't, and once again, the reason can be that it was released on March 20, 2020.

7 Florence

Florence

Florence is an adventure and visual novel game, so it is obvious that it has a niche. However, it is still one of the best games on iOS, which would mean that people should be hyped for its release on PC. Sadly, the game probably isn't popular enough to an average pc gamer.

This is probably why it was overshadowed by other games that were released in February 2020. That being said, Florence is easily an excellent game and definitely, a must-play if one has an hour to spare.

6 Kentucky Route Zero

There's really something special about almost every Annapurna Interactive game. Sometimes it's the music. Other times it the gameplay. However, this one has both the features going in its favor. Kentucky Route Zero has a silhouette-based art style and an eerie feeling unmatched by any other game released in January 2020. Unfortunately, it's a point-and-click game, which causes many people to roll their eyes on this one.

5 Kingdom Under Fire The Crusaders

Kingdom-Under-Fire-The-Crusaders

Like the Doom 64, Kingdom Under Fire The Crusaders is a console exclusive released on PC years later. This one has been Xbox exclusive for about 16 years, after which it was finally released for Windows in late Feb 2020. It's a hack and slash tactics game, which certainly deserves some love from the PC community. It's super cheap price tag is yet another reason to pick this one up, especially for strategy fans.

4 Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Ori-and-the-Will-of-the-Wisps

Ori series is pretty popular among gamers. However, the way it's crafted and the way it looks should really make it one of the best talked about games around. Sadly, that isn't the case. Ori and the Will of the Wisps can be described as a Metroidvania video game published by none other than Xbox Game Studios.

This game looks just as beautiful as an animated movie, and there should be no reason to skip this one, especially since it's super cheap on Steam.

3 Persona 4 Golden

Persona 4 Golden is the greatest game on PS Vita, and it's definitely a good thing that it has been released on the PC. This one, just like all the other Persona games, follow a tight fit suspenseful storyline, with a focus on role-playing and social simulation. It's not a super-fast game, but surely a worth playing one. Persona 4 can easily eat up to sixty to a hundred hours based on the playstyle.

2 Street Fighter V Champion Edition

Street-Fighter-V-Champion-Edition

Capcom is known to release their games as multiple editions. Street Fighter V Champion Edition follows the same trend. It's a fighting game that mostly everyone knows about. This is probably why the champion edition was not seen as that big of a deal. However, it is the most ultimate way to play Street Fighter V. It has 40 different characters and 34 dynamic stages, a lot of content for a fighting game like this.

1 XCOM Chimera Squad

XCOM-Chimera-Squad

This is a great example of a forgotten series that certainly deserves mention. XCOM series was extremely hyped back when Enemy Unknown was released. The game was the perfect turn-based strategy for the time and invented a lot of interesting formulas. However, that game was released back in 2012, and a lot of things have changed since then. XCOM Chimera Squad is by every means a perfect game to play and a highly overlooked one.
