In order to discover which of the six classic Bond film storylines will be making an appearance in Activision‘s 007 Legends fans will have to unleash their inner Bond. Over on the game’s official website, and through its Facebook fan site, players will have the opportunity to gather clues as to what movie narratives might be included while they also earn some unique prizes.
While those prizes most certainly could be DVD or Blu-Ray copies of the many Bond films that have graced the silver screen over the years, Activision implies that the rewards earned for participating in this 007 Legends contest are game-related. And then, of course, there comes the greater incentive of finding out which Bonds will be appearing in the game.
Just this week Game Rant’s Brian Sipple proposed which film narratives should be included in this Bond super collection, aside from this year’s third Daniel Craig adventure Skyfall, but it’s hard to tell what developer Eurocom might be looking for. The obvious answer is finding a way to include each of the classic Bond iterations (from Connery to Brosnan) in some fashion, but that’s not a necessity.
You’d have to figure that a storyline like Goldeneye or From Russia with Love are out of the picture since they have already received dedicated games, even though it would be cool to see another interpretation of Brosnan’s first outing as Bond. GoldenEye 007: Reloaded gave us somewhat of a unique look, with Daniel Craig assuming the Bond role, but there are some sequences from that film that just weren’t possible on the N64.
It really is a toss up as to what will make the cut — thus making this 007 Legends contest more intriguing to follow. And with the promise of in-game rewards it begs the question whether or not a multiplayer component will be factored in, and if that will feature a rogues gallery of Bond villains. Head on over to the 007 Legends official site if you’re interested in signing up.
How do you feel about Activision slowly teasing which Bond films will make the cut for 007 Legends? What in-game rewards should Activision offer for the game?
007 Legends is scheduled for an October 2012 release on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
