Zelda Adventure Minecraft Trailer

For all you Zelda fans out there who either aren't into the idea of motion controls, or simply would love the chance to experience another trip through one of the greatest RPG franchises of all time, the Minecraft user-created game Zelda Adventure is something you should take note of. Created by Gary520, it would be unfair to call the project a mod, since the latest trailer shows that it offers more environments and gameplay than some modern console releases. If you've been holding out on the Minecraft sensation, you former Nintendo fans might want to reconsider.

This certainly isn't the first time we've seen the open-ended customization tools of Minecraft used to create something a bit out of the norm.

From mind-bending visuals, faithful recreations of the puzzler Portal and even a means to bring oddly compelling prose to life, Minecraft has proven its potential for those seeking a creative outlet.

User Gary520 has decided to create something a bit more substantial, in the form of a full-sized Zelda dungeon crawler, featuring over 10 hours of gameplay, 20 unique weapons and cinematic cutscenes. The game will feature 5 to 8 dungeons taken from the series' history, and while it may be the first of its kind, Zelda Adventure is setting the bar fairly high for future modders seeking to use the PC game as a development engine of their own.

The creation simply needs to be seen to be believed, so check out the newest trailer for Zelda Adventure now:

We won't concern ourselves with the copyright implications of the project, or what impact it might have on other game developers or publishers seeking out modders to create Minecraft versions of their games as well. We know that Mojang is already working on getting mod support off the ground for the future of game, so who knows just how much the possibilities could explode in the coming years.

At this point, the game is being offered for free on the Minecraft forum, so let's not worry abut a pesky thing like legality. This couldn't have come at a better time, with Skyward Sword still yet to be released, and dreams of gamers everywhere already having shifted even farther into the future for the Wii U. For those whose love for Zelda has started to waver, a walk down memory lane in a cubic universe just might do the trick.

Will you be downloading Zelda Adventure? What other games do you think should be given a full-sized mod using Minecraft? Leave us your thoughts in the comments.
