Microsoft reveals that gamers will be able to choose two different Xbox One S bundles, with one containing Madden NFL 17 and the other the majority of the Halo series.
The release of the Xbox One S is just around the corner, and Microsoft is announcing some console and game bundles to make the release even sweeter. Interested gamers can now place pre-orders for a Xbox One S with a copy of Madden NFL 17 or nearly the entire Halo series included.
Microsoft today announced the upcoming Madden and Halo bundles, which are both available for pre-order and will also be sold in stores. The Madden NFL 17 1TB Xbox One S bundle is being offered for $349, and includes a code to download the Madden NFL 17 game, seven Madden Ultimate Team Pro Packs, and one month's subscription to EA Access for free. Gamers who pre-order the bundle through the official NFL Shop will also receive a 20% discount on their next purchase from the shop.
Those who would prefer to pick up the Halo bundle have a few more options. There are two versions of the bundle: a 500GB Xbox One S, and a 1TB variant. Both bundles include Halo 5: Guardians and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and they cost $299 and $349, respectively. Both the Madden NFL 17 and Halo bundles include one controller, and they will be released on August 23rd.
For reference's sake, Microsoft announced the Xbox One S as retailing at $299 for the 500GB and $349 for the 1 TB model without any games or bonuses, so these bundles are a great option for gamers who don't already own these games. These two bundles follow in the footsteps of Microsoft's other Xbox One price-slashed bundles, which have paired games like Quantum Break and Rise of the Tomb Raider with the original Xbox One console for the same cost as the console by itself. Although many have speculated that Microsoft is attempting to sell off its existing stock of Xbox One consoles in preparation for the more powerful Xbox One S and eventual Project Scorpio, that clearly isn't keeping them from offering some appealing deals for the new console, too.
The Xbox One S offers a slight step up from the current Xbox One console, offering 4K visuals on both games and Blu-Ray discs and a newly redesigned controller. Some gamers may still choose to hold off until the Project Scorpio Xbox One is released, which will be a significant improvement upon the current technology in the Xbox One. However, with the Project Scorpio's release still far off in 2017, these two bundles are a great option for gamers who don't want to wait that long.
The Xbox One S will release on August 23rd, 2016.
