April 2016's free Games with Gold will include Dead Space and Saints Row 4 on Xbox 360, as well as Sunset Overdrive and The Wolf Among Us on Xbox One.

Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be getting their money's worth next month. As usual, next month will bring four new free games for subscribers to download; two on Xbox 360 and two on Xbox One. Better yet, each of the four free games in April are heavy hitters, and not like the obscure indie games that have largely dominated both the PS Plus Instant Game Collection and Xbox Live Gold in recent months.

First of all, Xbox One owners can download all five episodes of Telltale's The Wolf Among Us from April 1st to April 30th. The Wolf Among Us is a video game prequel to Fables, a popular comic book series, but gamers don't have to be familiar whatsoever with the books to enjoy the game.

Then from April 15th to May 15th, gamers will have the chance to download one of the Xbox One's most critically-acclaimed exclusive games: Sunset Overdrive. Developed by Insomniac Games, Sunset Overdrive is an open world game wherein players are encouraged to never stop moving through the city as they do battle with the game's vicious mutants. Check out our Sunset Overdrive review for more on what we thought about the game.

The first game that Xbox 360 Gold subscribers can look forward to downloading in April is the celebrated science-fiction survival-horror game Dead Space. One of the highest rated games of the previous generation, Dead Space is a strong addition to the Games with Gold lineup in April. Moreover, this also means that Dead Space is being added to the list of Xbox 360 games playable on Xbox One. Dead Space will be available to download from April 1st to April 15th.

Another Xbox 360 game joining the list of 360 titles playable on Xbox One in April is Saints Row 4. The latest main series entry in the Saints Row franchise, it's possible that Microsoft is adding the game to the service in preparation for a possible Saints Row 5 E3 2016 announcement from Deep Silver. In any case, Saints Row 4 will be available to download from April 16th to April 30th.

And thanks to the latest Xbox One update, Xbox One owners can download both Dead Space and Saints Row 4 much more conveniently. This is because Microsoft has now made it possible to purchase Xbox 360 games directly on the Xbox One itself, meaning players don't have to drag out their old 360 systems to take advantage of the new free games.

In the meantime, Xbox Live Gold subscribers can still check out March 2016's free Games with Gold until April 1st. Headlining last month's offerings were the likes of Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishment as well as the original Borderlands game on Xbox 360.
