Microsoft shares an early look at their Black Friday sales plans for the Xbox Store, promising deals on over 150+ titles and bonuses for Gold subscribers.

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching in the United States and with it the consumerism holiday that is Black Friday. And while the PlayStation 4 may dominate sales the world over for the rest of the year, on Black Friday and in the month of November Xbox reigns supreme. Today Microsoft shared some early details regarding their Xbox Store sales plans for Black Friday. Running from November 24 through November 30, Microsoft will have over 150 games on sale for up to 40-60% off. Keep in mind that this is specific to their digital storefront and does not apply to retail.

As ever, the Xbox Gold subscription is the figurehead of Microsoft's Black Friday plans. All Gold subscribers will gain early access to the Xbox Store's Black Friday sale, opening the store from November 20 through November 23, in addition to the regularly scheduled dates.

Subscribers will also earn an additional 10% off during these four early access days, but it seems that the bonus 10% will expire starting November 24. Also, Microsoft will be offering a "first month" of Xbox Gold subscription for just $1 between November 20 and 30. For new Xbox owners, it'll be the perfect opportunity to build up a library of games and dig into some multiplayer action.

While specific games were not mentioned, several gameplay clips were shown during the sale's teaser trailer to suggest potential sale items. While it's not certain that the games shown will absolutely be included in the sale, it's likely a safe bet that they will be. Here's a list of the games teased for the Black Friday sale, as provided by NeoGaf user jelmerjt:

  • Castle Crashers - Xbox 360
  • Forza Motorsport 6 - Xbox One
  • Evolve - Xbox One
  • The Escapists - Xbox One
  • Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition - Xbox One
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Xbox One
  • Mmore Goatz Edition - Xbox 360
  • Grand Theft Auto V - Xbox 360
  • Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare - Xbox 360
  • Far Cry 4 - Xbox One
  • Borderlands: The Handsome Collection - Xbox One
  • Halo: The Master Chief Collection - Xbox One
  • Batman Arkham Knight - Xbox One
  • Bioshock Infinite - Xbox 360
  • Gears of War: Ultimate Edition - Xbox One
  • Madden NFL 16 - Xbox One
  • NBA 2K16 - Xbox One
  • FIFA 16 - Xbox 360
  • NHL 16 - Xbox One

Microsoft has several other Black Friday deals planned beyond their digital storefront. Xbox One bundles offering the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition,  The Lego Movie, Fallout 4 and several EA Sports titles will be on sale. In addition to the standard bundles that will be offered for the holiday, Microsoft is offering a deal where each bundle will get an additional free game of up to $59.99 in value. Other sales include the Microsoft Store offering a $10 gift card with all $59.99 game purchases and an additional $100 towards an Xbox One at GameStop when trading in an Xbox 360.

Microsoft's early jumps are a big reason that Xbox One consoles outsold PlayStation 4's in Black Friday sales in both 2014 and 2013. In fact, it appears Microsoft is starting even earlier, with reports coming out that the Xbox One outsold the PlayStation 4 in October on the back of Halo 5's launch. One could say it's due to the strength of the Xbox One's big holiday exclusives, their talent for marketing during large events, or perhaps it's just related to Microsoft being a big United States company during a United States holiday event.

Stay tuned for more details regarding Microsoft's planned Black Friday sales for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. Odds are they'll be revealing the full list of 150+ games that will go on sale between now and when the sale goes live for Xbox Gold subscribers on November 20.
