Microsoft has released their newest Xbox 360 Accessory: the officially branded Wireless N Antenna. Most notably, it features two antennas which are compatible with 802.11 g/a/b/n networks – whilst the old wireless adapter can only cover 802.11 g/a/b. Basically, it will function more efficiently, allowing for faster streaming and downloads.
The release (which was confirmed to be in development way back in September) has been released in time for the fabled November Update which will see 3 huge integrations with Xbox Live: Twitter, Facebook and Zune – instant 1080P streaming movies. All that detail streaming each second is a lot of data, which is precisely why Microsoft has started producing the new peripheral.
It’s official pricing is set around $99, and most stores have dropped the old antennas to between $60-75 in contrast. By now, Microsoft is a certified expert at selling ridiculously expensive additions (the old antenna, at one point, was $129 to purchase!) and users who might experience lag without it – but have purchased the old model – may not be the most willing to shell out the money over again for the new version.
What do you think of the Wireless N Adapter, and its respective pricing? Will you be buying it?

My wireless sucks big time. I’m probably going to invest in the upgrade just because I hate lag.
Don’t use wireless at all at home as I’m not into the long term effects of frequency saturation.
I’m old school I even have a wired controller on my 360.
